If there must be another series, regardless of whoever is doing it, I hope we get some more classic series aliens that were not really seenin the more modern era of Trek series and/or films.

Oh I completely agree. There will definetly be aliens that are not humanoid. The only problem for star trek would be a way of fitting it in. My concern is it would take away from the star trek mythology. I think it would be cool to see some non humanoids in star trek as well.
Don't really see how it would detract from Trek mythology. We have actually seen or heard of a few non-humanoid races over the years. Even discounting a bunch of novels as non-canon; there are the Horta and the space-jellyfish in 'Encounter At Farpoint' to name just a couple. No freak-outs happened when people realized they are sentient.
Many races are humanoid, and some (if not all) of them were seeded long ago. Some races are nonhumanoid or, in a few instances perhaps, were humanoid(-ish) but evolved differently. Nothing there to shake the pillars of heaven.
There was what looked like a Caitian (in Star Fleet uniform) seen in the crowd of delegates at the end of TVH.
I noticed that as well. But I hope we see more Gorn and Orions. They were interestingly played in the ENT three-parter.

If there is to be an adversary I'd go w/ the Tholians. I kno these guys are from the Star Fleet universe but I'd love to see the Hydrans too. For UFP members the Efrosians (Fed president in ST:TUC & engineer on Titan) would be interresting.
A Tellarite for Kirk to romance! Maybe a big poison monkey with a horn on it's head.
My favorite alien from Trek was turned out to be a puppet imposter, he/she had a giant noggin, catlike eyes and told Kirk that he and the crew of the Enterprise had 30 minutes to live, he/she was very cool. I'd like to see the real ones instead of the puppet that was designed after them.

Oh come on Sealord! Are you REALLY saying that if they had a Caitian(Cat person) walking a dog around (in the next movie), with a leash in one hand and a scooper in the other, you would even chuckle a little?
