What actor would you have liked to see?

Greg Morris - A Commodore or Captain.

Ivan Dixon - The leader of a colony.

Barbara Stanwyck - Federation Admiral or Commodore.

I could totally see all those, or Ivan Dixon as a Starfleet Admiral on board for a secret covert mission, doling out information to Kirk bit by bit.

:)

I wish John Anderson had done a TOS, just so I could post something in the "Trek guest actors" thread every time I see him in something. He's on Emergency! right now, and he played 11 different guest roles on The Rifleman, including Lucas's estranged father-in-law.

Don Adams
Barbara Feldon
Ed Platt
Dick Van Dyke
Mary Tyler Moore
Morey Amsterdam
Adam West
Burt Ward

Well, he did do TNG a year or so before he died.

I know, that's why he comes to mind here. It's like sighting a TOS guest actor, only he wasn't on TOS. He was all over other shows of the era, though.

Here's a couple of images of Philip Ahn, my earlier suggestion for a Vulcan or even a Starfleet commodore/admiral/ambassador. He died in 1978, but he would've made a great Admiral Nogura for TMP if he had lived a few more years.

I keep spotting a young Kurt Russell on old shows like Man from UNCLE and Daniel Boone.

Kinda surprised he never did Trek . ..

How about Bruce lee? He need not do gung fu.

Actually, I mentioned him earlier in the thread.

I think he would've made a great Red Shirt or recurring security officer.

Would've been cool to have him fighting Commodore Decker, though it probably would not have looked believable for William Windom to be beating up Bruce Lee.

Don Gordon. He worked a lot of television during the 60s, including Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Wild Wild West, etc., and several films through his career until retiring in the 1990s.

I have had a cold, and been off for the holidays as it is, so for the heck of it, I went on IMDB, and checked the credits out for the first couple of seasons of UNCLE, and found that in TMFO's first season, except for a couple of episodes, almost every Man from UNCLE show had either an a) Trek director and or b) Future Trek guest star or regular! And quite a bit of the time both!

The directors we know - and between the three of them, they directed almost all the first season shows - were Hershel Dougherty, of Tomorrow is Yesterday Trek fame, Corbomite Maneuver director Joe Sargent, and Marc Daniels, who did about 8 UNCLE shows, including one with Jimmy Doohan - remember this was 1964. Sargent was in all likelihood THE Man From UNCLE director, doing more of those than any other director. It was Sargent who directed the famous/infamous "Project Strigas Affair" episode, where Shatner and Nimoy appeared together first. (not to mention Werner 'Colonel Klink' Klemperer)

Felton and Roddenberry thought a lot alike!

I looked at Wild Wild West guest actors, and there are a lot of familiar names there too.

I've seen Shatner, Nimoy, Dohann, Koenig, Takei and Nichols (in some cases, more than once).

I never had a chance to see De Kelley and I wish I had...

Yeah, he was everywhere, could easily have turned up in TOS. I feel similar about Leo Gordon and John Dehner, too.

I've said this somewhere, but another multi-role guest actor of The Rifleman and other TV westerns of the era, Peter Whitney, would have made a great TOS Klingon.

Here's a suggestion: Could you guys post pictures of the less-famous actors like I did with Philip Ahn? That way, we don't have to leave the site to Google the names? I think it would make the thread more fun!

Here's That Old Mixer's suggestion:

I could totally see this guy playing a Klingon!
