First cogley writes a huge post that is as long as War and Peace, and now your post is akin to spam... spam, spam , spam, spam...

...Where are the mods!

Oh, that's right Cog, let's just bring the prince into this. How many other straw men can you take out before you realise your arguement is :censored:?!? Your evil minion, Polaris, obviously photoshopped that pic! You see how Kirk III's feet are disappearing? Obvious sign of a poorly shopped fake! There is an obivous bias in this board, and I hope someone finally bans you for your spammy waste of bandwidth!

Well, while I'm waiting for your ban to go into effect, I'll entertain myself by warning you for flaming.

This, I think, is much preferred to the fashion in the animated series in which the sleeves were held in place by a rusty metal bolt that was hammered between the radius and ulna bones of the forearm.

Is there anyone here with any military experience that can enlighten us on the proper way to wear sleeves in a fictional pseudo-military operation?

While I have tried the rusty bolt method, I've always preferred to use rusty metal screws and an electric screwdriver. Much more comfortable and held in place much more efficiently than bolts. I've had the bad experience of reaching for something on a high shelf and having my uniform bolts tear loose. Very embarrassing, to say nothing of the loss of blood volume. Screws are the choice of most military people these days. Though I'm sure by the 23rd century they'll have grown past such things. By then I'm sure they'll have metal strips in the rank braids and just weld them to your arm.

...Wow. I know I called you out on your duals a few times, but I thought I was relatively nice to you in comparision to some others around here. I would say that this is a pretty bitter way to day good-bye, but at the rate you're going, I fully expect to meet you again.

However, one could also look on the bright side and say, "Yay! I finally pissed someone off enough to get flamed!!!" My joining of these boards has been made worth it. :)

archerguy1701, if it makes you feel any better, you are completely useless, not merely to everyone, but to the universe at large. You are an insigificant bipedal organism on a tiny rock circling an insigificant star located on one of the less impressive ends of one of the less fashionable galaxies.

And even on that tiny rock, do all the other little bipedal organisms hold you out for some especial respect? When you die, will any newspaper consider an obiturary even remotely newsworthy? Will the memory - or rather non-memory - of your very existence continue in the foonotes of the minds of anyone but a lonely hobbyist decades later who researchers her family tree and then dies alone leaving no one to pass the knowledge onto? And even she will just have the name, and maybe a faded photograph, a curious artefact from an earlier age that will interest postively no one.

But heck, we're all in the same boat. Or tiny pathetic little rock. Whichever you prefer.

Except me. I'll be remembered forever.

Wow, I'm not sure whether I should sit here in sheer amazement of how deep that seemed, or if I should huddle up in a corner and cry to myself until I need to go to bed. I'm leaning towards crying. :p

And to think they locked down the original topic which this one, I think, is trying to parody. And that one actually had a topic....Very, very silly. :brickwall:

Chill Ricky, that other one got locked because it was turned into a flame war. This is what's called a "joke thread", which, based on PKTrekGirl's contribution to the thread, has passed the standards set for joke threads. So, get silly and have fun with it, cause we probably won't have anything better to do for 16 months. :bolian:

Definitely an amusing thread! (Though it IS fascinating to find out just who's been getting the text of "poster to moderator" private messages shared with them, isn't it? Not surprising, but fascinating nevertheless.)

S.T.C. always finds an amusing take on things... this was definitely good for a laugh. For the record, I want to see someone photoshop the sleeves under the skin! :D

Well, I (who got flamed in that very topic) don't mind this one at all.

Though I'm a little bit annoyed by the tone of one or two posts which've been made... seems it's cool to snipe at another poster as long as the mod likes ya, and as long as you're a sneaky sunovabitch in the process (don't mention names directly, but make it clear to your pals who you're sniping at), huh? ;)

Thing is, I'm ENJOYING this thread, and don't actually mind any of the posts, except for the obviously partisan tone of the "moderator" who's high-fiving it all. And since moderators are people too.. even that's OK... as long as the bias doesn't leak over into ENFORCEMENT BIAS. Right?

In Bones' madness, he tucked his sleeves in a little too tight. He was quite snippy for the rest of the day, and would accost passers by to perform an impromptu Cranial Grabbage with associated Googly Eyes:

(Yeah, it could look better. It's 12:28 at night and I'm flagging, OK?).

:D

Ya know, I'd never noticed that McCoy was wearing a ring in that shot, either!

If Karl Urban doesn't have a pinky ring in the new movie... BOYCOTT!!!!

You know, Cary, this comment is so far into the realms of the paranoid that I simply cannot respond.

Do you seriously think that Cogley and I, both of us professionals with serious careers, would be rushing right out to yuck it up over your PMs in our free time????

Surely you can't be serious.

No...I think the Boots Thread provided Cogley with all the material he needed, all on it's own.

Besides, that PM you sent me was so long I didn't even read the whole thing myself. :p
