It has been suggested by Abrams, and others, that this movie is not only aimed at us fans, but also the general public so as to bring in a new hoard of fans..good idea..

When this movie comes out you know there will be hardliners, Trekkers or Trekkies, who will bash this movie for not being 'this' or 'that'...what percentage of the fan base will LIKE this movie overall...

That's right; I remember reading about it, now. Haven't seen the show yet, but I hear it's pretty good.

They can't please everyone, obviously, but I think a lot of people who see the movie will like it -- perhaps even as many as 80%.

Eh, I think most ST fans are going to like it but invariably there will be something minor issues we'll gripe about here. If this movie does turn out to be a stinker, Abrams might be wise to change his name. I'm in the more optimistic group however, and I'm voting on the assumption that this movie does turn out to be well done.
