What About McCoy?

No Bones?!
I tend to think they're just holding back with the announcement or haven't found him quite yet. They've done quite a fine job of creating fan buzz parceling out the casting news bytes as they've done... I'd expect a McCoy announcement soon and then the big Kirk reveal.
What gives you the idea there'll be no McCoy?

Roberto Orci confirmed that McCoy will be a main character in the movie.
It is weird though that we haven't heard much McCoy speculation ... I almost totally forgot about him! 
Seriously, besides the early Gary Sinese buzz, there hasn't been much rumors as to who is playing McCoy. Obviously Roberto Orci's comments have been reassuring, with McCoy being a major player and all, but I am a wee bit surprised as to the minimal buzz on his character.
Oh well. Look forward to hearing who they cast anyway. However with both Scotty and Sulu being cast older (both are in their mid-to-late 30's) I still hope Kirk and Bones are cast older ... which I know won't happen, but c'mon ... Damon as Kirk, people!

Yes, but he is a tad old, isn't he? If Abrams had cast Spock a bit older (like with Adrien Brody, who was up for the role) then I would say that casting someone like Damon for Kirk and Sinese for McCoy would be realistic, but Abrams has already said that his Kirk is younger, so I imagine so is his McCoy and (naturally, obviously, since Quinto has been cast) so is his Spock.
^ I'm still holding out hope that they'll sign Sinise as McCoy.

Who knows, maybe they are after Sinise but negotiations are ongoing. Maybe that's why we haven't heard too much about the casting.
But what about the age factor? He's 53 years-old. In comparison, Zachary Quinto is 30. Matt Damon is 37, and was deemed too old by J.J. Abrams. Chris Pine is 27. I think Sinise is simply too old, unfortunately.
P.S. I also don't get why Damon is too old but someone like Simon Pegg (who is 37, same age!) or John Cho (who is 35) is not. Why, Abrams, why?!
Well, on the one hand Scotty and Bones were supposed to be the oldest members of the crew (in terms of "closest to death", Spock obviously being another story as his Vulcan age has little bearing on his apparent human age)... but on the other hand 53 is a little too much older. So, who's the "young Gary Sinese" out there?
That's definitely a valid point; but to be honest, he really doesn't look like he's 53 (at least in my opinion). I think he could pass for 35-40.JacksonArcher said:

umm shouldn't that be - Who's the "young DeForest Kelley" out there?
Well if they cast Gary Sinise or someone like him for McCoy, then I will simply be aggravated they didn't go for someone like Damon for Kirk, but I do understand how Bones and Scotty are older. Kirk is suppose to be young and dashing, so I guess I would understand.

That is a strange comment. The whole reason people want Sinise is because he is so much like Kelly. So its redundant to look for a lookalike... of a lookalike! That was my point.
