We're supposed to hit 100 F today!

There a chance Hubby and I can get into the US Open at Pebble Beach this weekend. The temps at the coast? Maybe 70 F. Maybe.

Downright cold.

Summer is here! And it looks like it's going to be another scorcher. :(

After much needed, apreciated, yet tiresome rain and clouds, BRING ON THE VALLEY DRY HEAT!! :klingon:

35 C/95 F is about right

Try 47C and see if you can cope with that smiles.

We had that temp a year ago and geez it was uncomfortable

OOOCH! Nice if it was dry. Was it moist?

Wimps ;)

Call me when it hits 50C down there. We see 50 - 51 C fairly frequently.

Around here - 70F = cold
80F - 110F = warm
110F+= summer

But that is desert heat, isn't it? Doesn't it cool down at night?

I found 45C degrees in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia much easier to bear than 35C at Ballarat in Victoria.

I feel the same. I found 110-130F heat the month I lived in Cairo much more tolerable than the humid 90-100F in NYC.

Yeah I spent a couple of weeks in Florida and the humidity was just absurd to me. Even in 100+F temperatures in California you feel like you can still breath. I remember stepping off the plane when we landed back in California on a hot summer day - the air actually felt crisp and cool, it was awesome.

People talk about it being the humidity and not the heat that is bad, and that is true, but, I was in Las Vegas in 2002 and it was 116 degrees in July. I was driving a black 4 cylinder Ford ranger towing my camper. The truck never gave a problem pulling the camper with A/C and all running but it was running much higher on the gauge than ever and I thought we had problems until I saw the bank sign with the temp. Then I understood, we were in Hell and cars and trucks run hotter there.

It's currently 16C/61F here in Newcastle. Quite nice at the moment.

During summer can get around 35C plus most days.

You guys are high desert, right? So snow in the winter?

No, unfortunately.

Though it's probably a good thing. When I lived up north, every winter we could tell who was a local and who was from California or Phoenix/Tucson. The locals would be doing 30-35 and the tourists would be doing 60 in the snow.
