Well it's official. TWOK has exposed me as a dirty old man.

Never thought I had a dirty mind. Sure I like some movies like Animal House, Caddyshack and Used Cars that have dirty scenes in them as long as I thought they were funny and clever overall. So crap like American Pie I thought were just crass and stupid and I generally don't go for overt sex or toilet humor.

But last night I was doing some work and the last hour of TWOK was on so I just left it as ambient noise while I worked.

So the scene in the Genesis Cave comes where Kirk and Carol are alone and Kirk says he feels old and worn out and she replies by saying "Let me show you something that will make you feel young, like when the world was new"..........I actually snickered a little and thought "I bet you can show him something like that".......First time in countless viewings I ever thought that line.

Maybe it's because of NuMarcus in her bra and panties in ID thst I thought that......Or maybe it's all over for me now and it's the start of my decline into sitting on a park bench someday asking young women who walk by if they'd like some sugar from grandpa.......Shit.....Just as I was looking forward to retirement someday too.;)

There is all kinds of dialog in Trek that can be interpreted in an, um... unorthodox way, if taken out of context.

Spock (TOS The Immunity Syndrome): "Brace yourselves, the area of penetration will no doubt be sensitive." :vulcan:

WOW....it's almost impossible not to take that out of context:lol:

I wonder if Nimoy said with a straight face on his first take, or if any other actors lost it.

In the audio commentary for the Director's Edition DVD, Nicholas Meyer remarks that Besch's line was "unintentionally funny."

As there's a brief scene aboard the Reliant before the camera cuts back to Kirk and Marcus approaching the Genesis cave, I've often wondered if more happened during that scene than we've been led to believe.

My ex was laughing at that line back in the 70s.

Another, from "The Enemy Within""--
Spock: It's painless and quick.

Which wound up in an old K/S audio mashup at least 15 years ago called Love Trek, about Spock going through pon farr.

Yes, he says it's perhaps the only unintentionally funny line in the movie, but I've always found Joachim's dying "Yours... is... superior" amusing. That's what it all comes down to in the end; Khan's jealous of the size of Kirk's... intellect. ;)

"I'm... LAUGHING... at the 'superior' intellect!" :)

That's actually when he gives the order to fire on the Enterprise for the first time, which was great because he'd been calm up to that time with his commands and then he screams FIRE like 15 years of pent up rage was about to be unleashed.

The intellectrage he grabs Joachim and screams full impulse power damn you and throws him our of the way and hits the engine buttons himself.

Good pic though

Oh, I took the image as a joke response, since Khan in that picture has this great look of anger and disgust that works with the innuendo, but the rest of his crew just look on.

I'm still amazed that nobody on the set suggested that "Um, maybe there's another way to phrase that?"

Yes indeed. I know exactly which bit it's from. :p

Well these things slip by. I still can't believe noone said "Uh you know the pink suede jacket and pilgrim collar doesn't really work for Chekov" in TSFS.....It's made even more confusing when the pilgrim collar appeared, then disappeared, then reappeared before it vanished for good for the last part of the film and made it just a black shirt under his jacket...which made it least a barely tolerable look.

OMG! When I heard that line I was like "Wow. That is so blatantly sexual that I don't know how it didn't get cut or altered."

TOS had interesting ways of being subversive and getting stuff by the censors.

I remember "Trek Love" It is one of those things I sort of wish I hadn't recorded off the Dr. Demento show.

During filming of ST:TMP, there's a story that they were all cracking up during a rehearsal or take by making wisecracks about bodily functions. I think it's in Shatner's ST Movie Memories. Before script revisions, it went something like this...

Uhura: Captain, Starfleet reports V'Ger has ejected an object.
Kirk (Shatner gets silly): A large turd, no doubt.
Spock: They're bigger than anything that's ever been seen before.

They had to break for 10 minutes just to regain composure.

It's related in the book Chekov's Enterprise and I recall it going something like:

NICHELLE: The alien has ejected a large object.
BILL: A turd, obviously.
DE: They're the same things that hit us.
By which point everyone was giggling.
SOMEONE: Your line! Your line!
LEONARD: No way. I wouldn't touch that line.
SOMEONE: Please please...
LEONARD: They are hundreds of times more powerful.

And that was that. Pandemonium.
