Have fun with the system. I think the games are definitely superior on the 360 right now, but if Blu-Ray is huge for you right now, then the PS3 isn't a bad choice.

I think that's only truer of the older model 360s (or ones with an older DVD drive). I have a new one with the newer heatskink and if it's on all day long, it's barely lukewarm to the touch (my stereo amp runs much hotter), and it's very quiet.

Though you can do well either way. I was on the fence about which one to get myself when I bought mine for Christmas. I went with the 360 because it has the best games now and the best online experience. PS3 may be far better down the road, but I may have bought a PS3 by then. For now, 360 seemed the best and that's what I was getting now.

Anyway. My best friend's brothers bought a new 360 a month or two ago and it Red-Ringed a couple weeks ago, so it seems to me buying a 360 is still a gamble.

Yeah, I won't argue with that. Newer models with the better heatsink should be far less of a gamble, but it was definitely a reason why I considered the PS3 so closely, too.

I just picked up a 360 Elite earlier today. I do intend to get a PS3 eventually, but not until the end of this year, at the earliest. Since I'll be using it for Blu-ray as much as (if not more than) games, I plan on buying an HDTV first.
