I often refer to Chakotay as "the Indian" (I find it ironic that Beltran is a Mexican. ) and, while writing some crap fanfiction struggling for something else to call Kathryn... I stumbled on the term "Indianian" ...Which my spell checker winced at and asked me I meant Indignation? Apt.

Who wants to couple with someone if after the fact your union might be referred to as "The Indian and the Indianaian"?

Well I always thought that Chakotay had given up on Janeway. It was obvious that he wasn't about to wait forever for her to come to her senses. I still wished it would have happened though.

I remember what Beltran said in his interview on the Season 6 box set of Voyager. He said that "mexican was basically half European, half Native American." So, he is part Native American.

I'm by no means an expert on Native American/hispanic origin, but I'm pretty sure Chakotay was supposed, despite how badly the writers screwed up their native lore, to be at least partly descended from the Maya, who extended into and undoubtedly genetically saturated Mexico. So Beltran does have that tenuous connection to his character.

I'm really glad that Janeway remained unattached during the course of the series. I think it would've lessened her character, especially if it were with Chakotay, who was a member of her crew- her first officer, at that.

Yes, a more natural word would be 'Indianan', not Indianian. Like Roman for those from Roma, as opposd to Romian.

Anyway, is Janeway so shallow as to not date someone because a name nickname might be coined? Maybe that's why she went after comfortably bland guys with indistinct names like Mark Johnson...

Originally she avoided relationships because of her boyfriend back home on earth. Then after she read his letter saying he's not interested in hanging around waiting for her, all notions of her seeking a mate stopped. Before then she was in the process of courtship with some alien men, even the Q asked her out. She lost sexual attraction on the series after getting dumped by her boyfriend in the alpha quadrant.

Is it rape if Q would have taken waste products like loose hair and nail clipping as the genetic archetype to seed his child with Janeway.

It's no different form when those aliens regenerated that living deadgirl, or what were caretakers original intentions for dragging the crew across space in the first place.

Q could have slide side ways through enough parallel realities until he found one in which janeway said "yes, boff me."

That's the one about Q I never got, Q's powers didn't seem to include mind control. He could never force Janeway or Picard to do what he wanted. You'd think an omnipotent being would know mind control. But then again if he could, there'd be no way out of the humans.

Amanda Connor (Olivia D'Abo as Q.) forced that Monkey Riker to fall in love with her, and after a few seconds she decided who unsatisfying it was to control all the angles.

Think of Free Will as a handicap against par for the course, as far as reality is concerned.

They also have to pretend they don't know the future too, that is if time isn't splitting infinitely.
