Awwwww.... :D

I still say "Duet" is one of the absolute best hours of Trek in existence. That's gotta count for something too - right? ;)

Whoever starts the next one, I'll be sure to drop by from time to time. And when I get around to giving DS9 another go (which I plan to do one of these days) that's where I'll talk about it - and shock you all. :D

^ Hey! You are back! Cool! :)

And I certainly hope you'll come around and post in the new thread. You are a member here...whether you like it or not! :p

Hey Guys. I hope everyone had a good halloween and can you believe it's already November. I was at a local Target this morning and they have already decorated for Christmas. Also, for my Digital cable, we have several stations themed that play nothing but music and one of them has already started thier holiday season. Christmas will be here before we know it.

Anyway, there was a reason I went to Target today at 8:00 in the morning. I wasn't planning this, but I met up with my friend and we both got Star Wars episode III. It was a reasonably great price ($14.99 plus tax) and I did get some halloween money this year. I was going to ask for it for christmas, but I'm glad I got it now.

Me and my g/f had a lot of fun for Halloween. I actually carved my first pumpkin ever (I did a Batman logo) and it came out pretty cool. I can post some pics later.

But yeah, Halloween isn't really big here, but we had a couple of friends over and we watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show (man what a weird movie, lol).

Anyway... today is Day of the dead here, which I find quite interesting (the fact that it's right after Halloween). We've actually got a long weekend off, I don't go back to work until tomorrow. :D

Here at least in my religion, it's All Saints day today and then tomarrow (November 2ed) it's the equivilent of what you have but we call it All Souls. We don't get that time off though. :(

^ Yeah...All Saints and All Souls are really Catholic holidays only. All Saints is a Holy Day of Obligation, last I checked...

Maybe they removed it. The U.S. Bishops are always messing with the Holy Day of Obligation list. It keeps gettin' shorter and shorter, I've noticed.

Hmm, I gotta remember what I did Monday night. Hmm...

Oh yeah, nothing ;)

I'm not overly concerned with the religious implications of the holiday (interesting commentary on this week's Boston Legal; most of America celebrates the holiday as just a secular time of fun, it's about the candy ), but I just didn't do anything.

Well, I got my old job back.

And 11 posts to go...

What job is that?

And Shameless, this is not a thread to spam, please. It's been going on for a while now, and I really feel that I have to say something.

We certainly don't mind you posting in here - in fact, we are quite pleased to see you. However, this is not a spam thread and you must contribute to the actual discussion in a meaningful way, instead of coming in here for one-liners.

If ya wanna spam, take it to the lounge.

Thanks.

I still can't believe this thread has lasted over a year. It was fun, and there are some good memories in here. I can't wait till the next one starts. :)

The job was substitute teaching. I'm still waiting on the clerical job but at least I have something in the meantime. Hopefully I'll land the clerical job at the Adult Learning Center because I think I'm the only one who applied but we'll see.

I was working at a temp agency and on my first day I was sorting audits. A few days later I called back and they lined up a part-time job for me in a financial office and said they'd check in with the company to confirm the assignment. After a few more days, I decided to call the company myself and go over the temp agency's head. The manager said the temp agency never got back to him so he had to make other arrangements. I thanked him and then decided I didn't want to temp for a company I constantly had to pull teeth out of to get work. To say they'll call and then not call was lazy and incompetant. I know those offices can be busy but surely they could've found time somewhere to in the span of a few days to confirm a job especially when I was promised they'd confirm a job that same fucking day.

I told them I couldn't afford not to work and privately I've decided not to waste time with people who'll waste my time. Being passive, as I'm finding out, gets you nowhere. Come to think of it, just about the only times when I've gotten anywhere is when I've been persistant, haven't twiddled my thumbs, and shown I was serious about something.

I appreciate TNG's "Tapestry" more and more with every passing year.

Hey, congrats! :)

This thread really is coming to an end, isn't it. It's kinda sad, but on the plus side, the new one should be just as fun. :)

I still can't believe it made it to a third page.

I'm glad I let Vash, Steven and assorted others talk me into starting it. Looking forward to hanging out with y'all in the next one. :)

What happened to Steven anyway. I only see him on a limited basis on the board, but he never posts in here anymore.

You're not all waiting for the recap are ya? ;)

Alright... here we go.

This very thread was started on October 15, 2004 by our very own self-described non-Niner SB. :p The thread has lasted for a whopping 386 days, easily surpassing previous community threads in this forum. It's good to set a record, but bad because it means we didn't talk to each other as much. ;)

As of this post (it should be reply #999), we get an average of 2.59 posts a day, nearly half of the last thread.

Notables:
-AA posted those damnable avatars he made.
-I finished up B5 watching (complete with a single "Wow" after Sleeping in Light).
-tomalak301 returned from... real life. :p
-SirRocko711 disappeared, thus ending the Caption This for a while...
-kev made Vash's "list". :p
-Meaningful conversations on Enterprise's In a Mirror, Darkly...
-Vash still hasn't read the DS9 relaunch (as of May) :p
-And of course, what's a DS9 bar thread without a conversation (or two, or three) about Orlando. :p
