i know what you mean. I had to take a physics final on wensday, and even afte 7 hours of studying ( i exaggerate not) The test could have been written in japanese and my comprehension of it would be about the same. Not too optimistic about that one.

Hey guys :)

Well, I've only got three weeks of school left, and then I'll be done (well, I'm gonna have a final a week after that, but that's no biggie). :) I honestly can't quite believe it, in a way these past two years have gone by so quickly.

And six weeks from now, I can finally go back home. :D I'm really looking forward to that. I've already got an interview for a job setup, so hopefully I'll be able to find work quickly.

What else is new... oh yeah, I've finally decided exactly what kind of a car I'm getting. So my dad ordered a brand new Skoda Fabia (in lemon yellow, looks great). I'd order it myself, but I can't, me being in Canada and all. The wait for a custom order (which it is cos of the colour) is about six weeks, so I should be able to pick it up as soon as I get back. Hehe, I'm gonna be so broke, but I really wanted a new car.

Here's a pic of the car if anyone cares to check it out (same colour as mine): Fabia

Anyway... that's about it. School's been fairly busy lately. We're finishing up our project, and the symposium is exactly three weeks from today. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, I added another eight pics to my avatar. :D

That's a nice car, BigFoot! :)

So when you go back home, you will be home for good, right? What kind of job will you be looking for? And when is your GF moving over there?

And most importantly, you'll still hang out here, right???

I don't think I could stand it if you left!!!!

tomalak, I hope you did well on your accounting test. I know how hard they can be. ;)

But wait for the CPA exam!

Thanks Vash. I actually didn't do very well on the test, and that brought me down to a C. I was one point off from a B for what it's worth, but I'm not going to fight the grade.

Yeah, I'm moving home for good. I'll be looking for some sort of a programming job. I'd love to be able to develop applications in Java, but the interview I've got lined up is for a database job (in Oracle) which I enjoy doing aswell.
My g/f's flight is three days after mine (I booked my ticket about six months ago so she couldn't get a seat on the same flight as me).
And yeah, no worries, I'll definately still be hanging out on my favourite board. I'd miss you guys way too much not to. :)

So how are YOU feeling Vash? Any better? *hugs*

Congrats on passing the exam. And it sucks you didn't get the B. But hey, years from now it's not really gonna matter. :)

^ I thought C was a pass? And then I'm really sorry man. What does the fact that you didn't pass it mean for you?

A C is a pass, but on the Test I got a D. I guess it's just a pride thing. I work my ass off all semester long trying to get through this tough class and it just turns out average. I don't think it measures how much time I put into it. Of course I have a learning disability when it comes to taking tests, so it just all comes down to that.

tomalak, don't be discouraged. Intermediate is the hardest class in the entire accounting program at most universities. It is INTENDED to be really difficult so that those who are just not meant to be accountants won't get too far in before they wash out.

You have to look at this in perspective. You got a D on ONE test. And your final grade for the semester was one point away from a B. That's not bad.

Rememeber, what you got in this class isn't gonna matter down the road. As long as you learn the material so that you can eventally pass the CPA exam, you'll be good.

And don't even worry about getting a job - thanks to SOX, the big accounting firms have their doors wide open to anyone who makes it thru the program with reasonable grades and who is willing to work hard. It's NOT like it used to be when I was your age...when you had to have practically straight A's to be offered a job in the big firms. ;)

Hello from beautiful San Diego. Actually, it's Oceacnside, but close enough. :D

Anyway, I had some time this morning before I head out and we have (limited) internet acess where I'm staying. So far, the trip is going well. Yesterday we went to Seaworld and today is just touring the city. Seaworld was alright, but if you've been there before, they really havn't changed all that much.

Well, take care all, and hope everyone has a safe, and fun day today. Of course take a time to remember what today is all about.

Cheers

Glad to see the bar still has some life in it ;)

Neat car, BigFoot. Enjoy! And I can definitely understand how eager you are to get back home. I was just a few hundred miles away for school and I was homesick. To be a few countries away!!?!? Man!

Hang in there tomalak301! Accounting seems to give some of the biggest headaches around. But I guess it's so you won't freak out when some business or client dumps a huge pile of numbers on you to straighten out in the future  Glad you're able to get away and have some fun.

So Vash, how are you doing??

If I was just a few countries a few, it wouldn't be that bad, at least in Europe cos the countries are fairly small. :D But yeah, I'm still glad I stayed here for the last two years, cos I think it was a really good lesson for the future. And I definately got a good education, which is gonna be useful.

I forgot to mention plus one pretty large body of water :D

Yeah, I think of Europe like the United States, with most countries the size of states, but with a few different languages between them. That may not be much different from the US either  Actually, it may be even better connected, since there's some good train systems there that are regularly used, right? I've only been on a train once in the US. I'd love to ride on them again, but it's pretty inefficient these days.

Well, I wouldn't even say that the train system in the U.S. is really meant for passenger traffic...except on the Eastern Seaboard. For the rest of the country, riding on a train is kinda a novelty, more than anything else.

That is one way I wish we were more like Europe.

As for me, kev...not doing that well IRL...but I'm doing the best I can. I could really use continued prayer/good thoughts/positive karma.

Thanks for asking though.

Wish some of you guys has ICQ or MSN or something....

US travel kinda sucks unless you're priveleged to own a car. I heard our biggest passenger bus company - Greyhound - is closing locations. I think they're closing 39 in my state. That's got to be the cheapest way to travel (though not all that pleasant ;)). Unless you have a car or decent money for an airline ticket, I think a lot of people are going to go back to hitchhiking to try and get around the US. Oh will that be horrid.

Vash, you are definitely in my prayers and thoughts, and I am hoping for the best. I'll send you a PM.
