Weirdest Christmas theme movies you have seen

Can't remember or find the name of this movie.

A Christmas Carol maybe 10 years ago, modern day blond lady get's Scrooged, becomes nostalgic for her Christmas Past, beats up the Ghost of Christmas past, and runs off into the 70s where life is easier.

Well, if you want weird, there's always "Bad Santa"... maybe "Home Alone" but that one's too smurfy by comparison.

In fact, the usual clip show site manages to bring up the edited highlights:

Now, I can't think of a Christmas-themed movie that gets any weirder. Props to those who can one-up that. (Disclaimer, the clip assortment contains some foul language and stuff, but it hasn't got any more foul language than some episodes of modern Trek...)

I thought at the time Bad Santa was a bit on the nose but after watching Violent Night well my opinion changed, it's fun but it's also a bit more on the nose.

I remember there being two completely different movies called Jack Frost, both about a guy who dies and comes back as a snowman.

One's a feel-good comedy with Michael Keaton, the other is...well, Tosk from DS9, and he's a snowman serial killer.

If you say that Home Alone 2 is a Christmas movie, then you have to let Die Hard in as well. After all, in "Die Hard", John McClane kills 10 people. In HA2, Kevin McCallister kills 15, as long as you count any act of violence that is likely to kill a healthy adult male as a kill.

Other action-packed holiday movies include Die Hard 2, Lethal Weapon, Gremlins, and the less well known but still pretty good The Long Kiss Goodnight.

However unlikely it may be - if nobody dies, then by definition it's not a kill. Simple as that.

It's like that bit in 2001 when Dave Bowman blows the hatch of his space pod getting back into Discovery. I agree that the pod SHOULD have gone tumbling off into space - but it doesn't. Same story here. All those traps Kevin set SHOULD have killed, but they didn't.

As in so many other things, "should" is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what DID or DID NOT happen.

Violent Night (currently included on Peacock)

The title is not kidding. Touching Christmas story though.

Technically, no one died in "Die Hard" either then; after all Alan Rickman went on to play Professor Snape and the Grapthor Hammer guy in "Galaxy Quest". But since I know what you actually meant, we'll agree to agree to disagree on that one.

And Home Alone 2 had Donald Trump in it; Die Hard did not. Therefore, DH is more Christmassy than HA2. :nyah:
