So, does anyboy have a reasonable explanation for the first two pictures, I'm actually interested in that that? Missile test site? Quarry? Photo artifact? Race track? Anything?

Some of those are too wriggly to be runways or useful roads. I will make some guesses.

1. They're testing new materials for road surfaces, and this is an area of land that's been allocated to the task. So they make good use of it.

2. The b shaped one looks like it has been bombed. There are a few holes focused in the square at the end. So this square does look like an target for bomber pilot training. Some military purpose is likely.

3. They're testing technology for adding road intersections to existing roads, seeing how smooth they can get the join when laying at various angles.

4. Perhaps this is a military training for personnel to lay runways? Perhaps for rapid deployment in war time, to build runways?

5. It's orientation training for bombing pilots. Where by having a confusing road layout (which could easily be a city plan), they must be able to look out their cockpit window and know where they are on the map from what they see with their eyes.

6. It's a symbol with some traditional chinese meaning, that has been constructed for bringing wealth or luck (it's always one of those two:)).

"For God became so bored that He decided to doodle away at a quiet corner of the world to keep His mind from wandering."
-- Book of Ravescene-ations, ch. 7, verse 9

Now this I know what this is. This was an ambitious attempt by the Chinese to create the world's largest stain-glass church window from space. Unfortunately, the stain glass didn't set properly and fell apart, and the sun burned brilliantly onto the large metal frame, burning an unsightly tan-mark on the surface of the planet.
Whatever that is, it's a darned sight better than the London 2012 logo. At least it doesn't look like Lisa Simpson giving fellatio. Much. :bolian:
It's part of the cooking instructions on how to shallow-fry the planet. Turn it occasionally until thoroughly browned, of course. :bolian:

The last one obviously looks like a bombing range but the first two look more like some Google employee was having some fun with Photoshop (just like those smileys hidden in some places).

Sorry, the correct link:
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=62.098742,-141.196289&spn=1.784127,4.614258&t=h&z=8

I've seen those before, still have no clue what its about.

Does anyone know what this black bar is doing on the Alaska/Yukon border?

When you see a black bar, it's usually just an error or blank spot in the imagery, nothing sinister. ;)
Possibly, but it has been there for at least a couple of years now. :vulcan:
You'd think they'd have fixed it by now?
