Weird Placements...

There have been some weird placements of items on Trek. In TUC there was a weapons locker in the galley, the scene when Lt. Valeris vaporizes a pot of food. Was the food that bad that the cooks needed weapons in the kitchen :)

In Voyager episode Drone, there was a view screen in B'Elannas sonic shower area.

In DS-9 episode Hard Time, there was also a weapons locker in a cargo area. I was under the assumption that weapons on Starships were kept in a secure location.

Can you think of anyother wierd locations for items in Trek...

Maybe she was the camgirl of the 24th century? Two strips of latinum per minute to watch her shower.

As for weapon placements - the kitchen area may be explainable on the off chance they get boarded. Even a chef has to defend himself... but the cargo bay in Hard Time... where pretty much anyone can go. Not so safe...

Defiant's docking port always bugged me - though thats a bigger scale of annoyance than I think you intended ;) - as you'd have to walk through deflector control and bulk of tech stuff to get there.

And the torpedo tube in ST:II. Gret set, but the distance between the topedo stash and the time it takes for one to get there (including in ST:VI) seems a little bit slow in a crisis.

The unseen stash in ST:IV might be closer to the launcher, but then high explosives on a part of the ship that looks structuraly weak seems like a bad idea.

The only other thing in my head right now is the holographic communicator in For the Uniform. Why move a console (which must have some purpose to even be there) for the holocommunicator when you can put it in front of the viewscreen which seems a more obvious place.

But then the helm officer would be in the way... which then makes me wonder, why is the held directly in the captains line of vision with only one small step between the captains chair and the floor?

When red alerts sound in ST II, and everyone rushes to their emergency posts, IIRC one of the crew is wearing the backpack vacuum cleaner device from earlier in the Academy simulator room sequence. Ready for clean-up, I guess.

"Tomorrow Is Yesterday"

There is a food unit in the transporter room.

Did Constitution class transporter chiefs really get that hungry standing behind the console for 8 hour shifts?

Various original series episodes

The transporter room has a fairly large viewscreen off to the side with the same capabilities as the bridge viewscreen.

Obviously, not only do transporter chiefs get hungry, but bored as well.
