Hi there,
Back in the 70's my father, Gordon Archer, did the artwork for the Weetabix Star Trek promotion (he also did several others including the two Doctor Who promotions).

I have a collection of the cardboard figures but recently found someone selling a poster from the same promotion that I'd forgotten about. Unfortunately I missed out in buying it.

So my question is, has anyone got one of these posters they'd be willing to sell to me?

I will try to add a photo of the poster shortly.

Kind regards,

Jon Archer

Wow it's Jon Archer! Short for........ Jonathan Archer?

Sorry, I have nothing constructive to add. I just had to be the first to point out that obvious connection that you've probably heard dozens of times before. My apologies for being a nincompoop.

Also welcome to the forum! I would like to see that poster you speak of.

I collected the character cards in the 70s. I never did get Uhura. I expect they are rotting in my dad's loft.

Jon,

The editors of a Dr Who based fanzine would like to talk to you about your father's work on the Weetabix material. Please contact me.

Best,

Hi there,
It's been a while. I was doing another search around the internet for the poster and came back here to see if there had been any luck.
How do I add an immage of the poster? Do I have to put it on the internet and add a link here?

Jon

Hi there,
Sorry but I've only just come back onto the forum.
Jon

I'll suggest one way of putting an image up. I'm not an expert here but no-ones complained about the pictures I've posted so far.
I've put my photos on the internet and then used the picture or link button in the 'Go Advanced' reply. I post my photos on PHOTOBUCKET.COM.

Here you go, hope this link works.

Nice shot of the poster, Jon. I don't have one, but to be honest even if I did, I don't know if I could give it up. It's nice work.

I've only ever seen it on ebay once and really kick myself for not paying the £250 for it.
I actually remember my dad working on the star trek promotion. Me and my brothers and sister are all big star trek fans but my dad really didn't like it (he's not into sci-fi).
