We need more TNG novels!

There's about 6-7 months between AGT and GEN and then Worf leaves, and the Ent-E isn't really the kind of ship you want exploring. It's too menacing. It looks like a warship.

I don't think so. I'm no fan of warships, and I think the Sovereign class is very sleek and appealing. It looks fast, at least going by the prejudices of beings who live in atmosphere and associate streamlining with speed, but it doesn't look menacing to me.

I want to see the Ent-D do some serious exploring. It was what, the Cygnus Reach you coined in TBA that the Ent-D was supposed to explore after EAF?

Following the precedent of the term "Taurus Reach" that was coined by Marco Palmieri and/or David Mack for Vanguard. It was the space beyond Deneb, i.e. in the direction of the constellation Cygnus as seen from Earth, so I figured if there was a Taurus Reach there would be a Cygnus Reach. Didn't I also use "Scorpius Reach" in Greater Than the Sum?

I'd enjoy seeing Miranda Kadohata featured between episodes of the seven seasons. It would be fun to think of her just out of canonical frame in some important events.

Why not a trilogy/miniseries exploring the Reach...See a little more of the crew before the departures and death of the others.

Indeed, the idea that the Sovereign class looks menacing is a subjective evaluation based on shapes that our culture considers "strong" or "predatory."

We tend to associate streamlined shapes with predatory behavior because so many ground predators have to be streamlined, and we tend to associate wide, unstreamlined shapes like the Galaxy class with peace for the opposite reasons. But another species might have completely different perceptions of those relative shapes.

The Sovereign was designed to fight the Dominion/Borg and is necessarily more visually "menacing" than the Galaxy-class ships. Aliens might think the Galaxy incapable of defending itself but it has teeth, even though it doesn't appear to. The Sovereign looks like it has teeth and won't hesitate to use them.

But that's just my opinion. I like my Starfleet with Galaxies, Novas, Intrepids and Lunas.

Actually, the Galaxy class remains much larger. In addition to being wider, the Galaxy class has 42 decks compared to the Sovereign class's 24. (Or 26 or 29, depending on which line you believe.)

I'm fairly certain that the Galaxy class is carrying the same weaponry by now.

Once again, no, that's a cultural evaluation that's completely subjective. And the idea that a ship looks aggressive and that its inhabitants is one that could occur no matter what ship the ship has. To the Genericnameians of Generic Planet X, for instance, the Sovereign class might look completely benign and the Galaxy class incredibly threatening.

But that's just my opinion. I like my Starfleet with Galaxies, Novas, Intrepids and Lunas.

As I stated, that is my opinion. Your mileage varies.

I would still like to see the Ent-D getting down to some serious exploration, much like the Titan is doing. It would be nice for a change of pace, you know, if the galaxy can spare the ship that's saved its butt a few times.

I'd also like to explore more of the ship. The thing was huge and we didn't get to see some of its larger sections. ...The freakin' airport that is shuttlebay 1 and cetacean ops, to name two.

^Those "spurts" happen when there's a reason for them, and it's not that hard to figure out. There was an emphasis on DS9 books in DS9's anniversary year, an emphasis on VGR books in VGR's anniversary year, and so on. There's an emphasis on TOS and Abramsverse books in 2010 because the Abrams movie about Kirk and his crew is a huge hit. In years without anniversaries or major events to tie into, like 2008-9, the schedule is much more balanced. (Of course the movie came out in '09, but the filmmakers' secrecy made it hard to arrange tie-ins until after the film's release.)

TNG premiered in 1987, so 2012 will be its 25th anniversary. It would be reasonable to expect the schedule for that year to be heavy on TNG (alongside Abramsverse material, since that's the likely release year for the next movie).
