We NEED a remake of ALF stat!!!!

With the media reboot crazy right now, why has ALF not been remade?

Should it be dark and gritty, i.e. we actually see Alf eat cats? Or should it be a stoner comedy...wait a minute...Seth Rogan is really ALF in human form already! Ok, so we have Seth Rogan as ALF, Jon Cryer as the dad, and McLovin as the plucky, kid! We'll find a place for Samuel L. Jackson in there somewhere, maybe the cranky neighbor?

Ok, any suggestions for the wife/mom on the show? I hear the cat from Sabrina the teenage witch is looking for a job.

an Alf remake would be do-able, I hear that the dvd sales are stellar for it, as long as we got a small wonder remake as well

Not a reboot, a re-imagining. Start it out as an live-action action-adventure series set on Melmac and in the space around Melmac, with Commander Gordon Shumway tracking down criminals of the week and searching for the truth about a mysterious organization that seems bent on Melmac's destruction.
Season 1 ends with the destruction of Melmac and the exodus of the few surviving Melmacians.
Season 2 picks up shortly after, with Gordon Shumway leading a rag-tag fleet in search of a shining planet called Earth, while being harrassed by the alien empire that destroyed Melmac.
Either at the end of Season 2 or the middle of Season 3, Gordon's fleet finds Earth, and the Melmacians attempt to integrate into Earth society while bolstering Earth's defense forces with their own technology, hopefully in time to put up a defense against their mutual enemy.

Battlestar Alfactica?

My 20 year old Gordon is sitting next to me, and says... "No! I don't wanna be done in CGI!"

CGI, never. Battlestar Alfactica will have an all muppet cast. It'll make the senseless brutality even more poignant and the gratuitous sex even more remarkable.

"Gordon here. Muppet sex? I'm up for that. About time. Arrgh, get off... there's this human pulling me off the keyboard... Gotta go, gotta bite him."

"HELP! For years, he's kept me trapped with a couple of Clangers, three of the Banana Splits (I know what happened to the fourth one) and an unconvincing dolphin. HELP!"

Alf : Hey, Willie! I've written a live action treatment of my life--with a few alterations.

W : Such as?

Alf : I'm actually a suicidal time traveler.

W : Sigh--so how does it end?

Alf : I KILL ME!!!!

Puppet sex and brutality? Even better than I imagined. I was just kidding at first but I now actually want to see an update. Maybe on Robot Chicken? The Chronicals of Gordon Shumway.

I vote no. ALF still has a career as it is - he had a talk show recently enough to not be considered "out of the game".

I'd like to see him hosting a game show for GSN, or maybe some sort of reality show. It works for Mario Lopez and Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and ALF was definitely more famous than either of them.

I've got it, the enemy can be genetically engineered cats. Cats were created by Melmacians, they rebeled, they evolved, and they have a plan.

I think we have a different definition of the word "need"... :p
