The recent video does include a glimpse of Cavill in the red and blue, which sadly suggests to me that we may not see him in the black suit.
It's sad because it suggests Supes will be pretty much perky from the minute they dig him up. They should save the old uniform for when he gets his mojo back, which should not be immediately. How is that sad? Sheesh, SnyderSupes is gloomy enough without wearing black.

I've still got no idea how they'll fit the resurrection into the rest of the plot, which in itself should be rather substantial.
Cavil tweeted this a couple months ago about JL.I suppose all we get is the black coffin. Not even a mullet!

I know right? Considering it's something we already saw in MOS.I don't get why the Internet was all "Eeee, black costume!" when they saw that. It just looks like a black-and-white photo of the normal costume.
The footage from the new film looks pretty ... perky. Why? He was never perky before.
BvS written by Terrio and Goyer.Well, since it's a Zack Snyder film, they'll probably fit it into the plot incredibly clumsily and arbitrarily with little narrative logic or justification.

BvS written by Terrio and Goyer.
MoS written by Goyer (Nolan co-credit for story)
I thought BvS was more the executive driven, than Snyder driven. Since the film does seem to be another too many cooks in the kitchen type movie. Like TASM 2, IM2, and AoU.And JL is written by Terrio. Since BvS was a far more incoherent and brainless movie than MoS, that's not encouraging.
Besides, feature films are a director-driven medium, not a writer-driven one like television. Feature writers are basically there to follow the instructions of the director and producer, to help put the director's vision on paper. And credited writers are generally just the tip of the iceberg of the insanely convoluted writing process in the feature industry; the writer who ends up getting credited may have contributed vanishingly little of the final film.
When Supes wakes up, he will find himself in the new DC perkiverse, where even Batman smiles and cracks jokes. He will naturally follow suit. But there should be a period of transition from death to the new normal, and the black costume would make that more dramatically effective.Yeah, but the point is that there's no reason why Superman's perkiness should be correlated with his costume, since he's never been perky in the red and blue costume before.
A lot of words considering you have no insider knowledge of these specific projects. We do know that Nolan and Goyer went to WB with their idea for Man of Steel, Nolan was made producer of the project, he offered it to several directors until Snyder accepted and signed on to directed a script by Goyer and Nolan. This does not match with your idea of Snyder as some sort of demented supremo. Unless Snyder, with his foot in the door, somehow staged a mutiny, then took a decent script and mutilated it while the Nolan (the experienced director, the producer, the guy who took the script to WB) just watched and did nothing.feature films are a director-driven medium, not a writer-driven one like television. See, if you make faces, the wind will change and you'll be stuck like that. Mom was right!
