Wayne Knight cast in Torchwood?

www.doctorwhonews.net says that they're dropping clues that he'll be in some role.

Knight is of course best known as Newman in Seinfeld, but also had a significant role in Jurassic Park and a recurring role on Third Rock From The Sun. Recently saw him in CSI, in the episode that also had Tim Blake Nelson.

Well, I have mixed feelings about this. Wayne Knight was great in Seinfeld, but from my experience, he basically plays the same character. His character in Jurassic Park was basically a non-comical Newman, for example.

It'll be interesting to see, if true. I wonder just how a Newman-type character is going to fit into Torchwood. On the other hand, some comedy would be welcome to Miracle Day. I found Children of Earth got a little too dreary in parts.

Yes, he's a cool character, but, it seems like a very strange match. Only time will tell how his character will work in a Torchwood series.

Perhaps brought in to cater to American comedy tastes? Blah.. Not sure I like this choice.. The one "serious" role I've seen him in was in Brannagh's "Dead Again," and even then he was sort of a buffoon.

Knight played a slightly comical character on Bones last season, but he played it well.

I haven't seen him in a more serious role, so hard to say what kind of character it'll be.

He was actually pretty good in Punisher: Warzone (hey I'm not afraid to admit I liked it). His character was pretty far removed from Newman. I'm sure he'll do just fine.

He was also one of the detectives questioning Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct (the leg crossing scene).
