Watching Voyager for the first time

I'm on my second watch of B5 atm, almost done with the first season.

And I looked the first officer up, found a better photo and he is still yech. Yes I'm actually saying Chak looks better.

As a note: Time and again I didn't much care for. But Phage was a surprisingly good episode for a first season...

Phage is great. But the Vidians (Viidians? - never sure how to spell), are unresolved.

Well, So far the first season of Voyager has been best described as Inconsistent. Some is decent, and some is sleep inducing.

I think some good episodes in season 1 (like Phage) and there are other season 1-3 episodes I like but wouldn't necessarily recommend. Season 4 definitely gets more interesting...

I heave heard that(that season 4 is very good, and it might not be worth watching seasons 1-3), and as tempting as it is to go directly to season 4, I will be (Slowly) grinding though the first three seasons. though at this rate, I might not be able to hold up and might just skip to season 4. I am mixing in a few other shows to keep my watching up.

Even some of the Season 1 episodes that are kinda boring usually have some redeeming factor for me - "The Cloud," for instance, has some fricking amazing dialogue. I wish they had written everyone to be that snarky for the rest of the show.

But yeah. It's a bit dry overall. I really enjoy 2, but I know I'm in the minority with that opinion.

EDIT: Re: Skipping to Season 4 - I wouldn't. There are people who swear by 1-3 and others by 4-7. But it really, really depends on the person. You might regret skipping 1-3. 1 is easily the driest season. It gets better.

I hadn't seen DS9 before VOY and was recommended 'just go to season 3'. Can understand why said that and never regretted, but later watching season 1 & 2, were a few episodes I liked. So in retrospect wished I had watched in sequence. TNG watched season 1-7 in order and even though disliked some episodes glad I persevered. So tempting as it is, stick with VOY seasons 1-3, and payoff in season 4+ may be greater...
