Watching Star Trek Xl RIGHT now! The only Trek?

No timeline distruption of the magnitude of Vulcan's destruction has ever gone unrepaired.

What about the Veridian system's non-destruction?

Only thing is there is nothing in the movie to indicate that the type of time travel that occurred in Star Trek XI is any different that than the type that happened in TOS, Trek IV, First Contact, Voyager and so on.

Nero goes into the black hole before Spock. At this point Spock's history/ timeline/ universe does not change to reflect Nero's time travel.

^But he was falling into the black hole at the time, so you could argue a First Contact-style technobabble excuse ("temporal wake", whatever that is) if you so desired.

Star Trek's use of time travel has been so inconsistant thoughout it's history (and I'm talking it's real-life 40-year history, here!) that just about any interpretation of STXI's time travel can be backed up with canon "evidence".

I still have no idea how beaming Captain Christopher "into" himself as the Enterprise travelled back in time solved anything, nor why Kirk's landing crew were left unaffected in "City of the Edge of Forever" when they were changed in "Yesteryear", nor how removing Archer from his rightful time in "Shockwave" destroyed the future when doing the exact same thing in both "Azati Prime" and "Zero Hour" didn't .

And again I am faced with this age old question. Why is this movie not considered the primary timeline? There is nothing in this movie that suggests that this is an alternate universe. They all say that their lives have been changed forever. Spock knows that Nero is from the future. He figures it out. When Uhura says an "alternate reality" she is referencing what Nero will now know, NOT that the CREW was is in an alternate reality.

That's a good one. Anyone who falls for this deserves whatever hoops you put them through.

I thought TNG series was great, but it is what it is. I just want to see Picard again!
Nice to know.
