Was *this* lost era ever dealt with?

The TNG tech manual references this. It's not 'canon' but it's a reference to this exact thing, anyway. I'll dig it up when I get home.

I'm a longtime lurker, rarely a poster,

According to your post history, this is your first post ever, so by "rarely" you actually mean "never even once before this post"?

I'll tell you what annoys me, are the trolls that come by here and get away their personal insults for someone by hiding behind the "insult the work, not the poster" rule.

^ Because "era" is not synonym for "specific question". Seriously, if you're going to post to a board dedicated to written works populated by professional writers, and demonstrate this kind of misuse of English vocabulary... well, then, your balls are fair game.

I don't think that is very fair. Just because I make a post on here that may be wrong or misleading doesn't mean you totally crack down on someone. That's a good way to discourage someone from becoming more involved in Trek.

I find the Trek Lit forum to be one of the hardest ball busting forums I frequent. I find that very ironic and sad because of what Trek is supposed to represent.

Good point.
This is a Trek BBS, so we shouldn't have to worry overly much as to how specific our thread titles are. Just click the thing and see if you want to answer or not.
