Well, just because I think it's fun to come up with serious answers for silly questions...I think it would be very possible for Vulcan infants have different nutritional needs than human infants, so if Amanda was able to breastfeed, it's likely she'd have to supplement the breastfeeding with a special type of formula.
Au contraire, according to Memory Alpha and the Star Fleet Medical Manual Vulcan infants are breastfed, like Terran infants. However, the Manual entry I had at hand was abbreviated, so JJ & Co may re-write the canon to include nutritional supplementation as he and they see fit.
BTW, I am *not* being catty about Ms. Ryder's assets, but they have been enhanced -- I did a filmography research. The pictorial history speaks for itself -- sometime between "The Age of Innocence" and 2000, Ms. Ryder received her 'improvements.' Hollywood competition is quite keen and if that gives her an edge, so be it.![]()

So, since we have Winona Ryder in the new film and she will be playing Spock's (human, duh!) mother then, well, it would seem to be a sort of opportunity to take advantage of said actresses assets, er, talents, er, volum..., ack, well known beauty to demonstrate the wonder that is motherhood. And breast feeding. I feel it would be a great opportunity to see more of Winona's... um... well...

Juvenile, in questionable taste, and utterly spam. I love each and every poster in this thread with all of my black heart.
I am also a fan of Primus.
