Was John McCain a prick?

Most of die hard is excellent, but it always bothers me when he is fighting the guy whos brother he killed earlier and says "you should have heard your brother squeal when I broke his fucking neck".

Its the sort of thing a bad guy would say, not the hero.

Of course if you are watching it on tv, that wont be in it anyway.

If you mean John McClane, then yes he was kinda a prick in that scene. But how could he not be, given the situation. He was not supposed to be the all righteous hero, but just a normal guy.

Is McClane a prick? Yes. In Die Hard With a Vengeance he lies to Zeus about where a bomb was planted to get his sympathy. He tells Zeus it was in Harlem when it was actually in Chinatown.

His best prick moment is in Live Free or Die Hard where he wonders if the villian is "still on hold with 'can I get another dead Asian hooker bitch over here right away'" and then tells him that she was "smokin' hot... I'll bet one of those is real hard to come by!"
