Warner Bros developing a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle Movie

Of course, there's no reason why either character would have to be played by a white actor, any more than there was for Nick Fury or Heimdall or Iris West or all the others who have been cast diversely. But Hollywood has a track record of only changing the ethnicities of supporting characters rather than leads (unless it's changing leads from nonwhite to white, as with Starship Troopers, The Last Airbender, etc.). So going with Jaime Reyes rather than Ted Kord would be a better guarantee of diverse casting.

Ted Kord with Booster would be ripe for sticking it to white male privilege.

No, it would be adapting the characters from the comic in the way they obviously want if they're considering a BB/BG movie in the first place. Jamie Reyes is not the Blue beetle that works with BG. Unless they make him Jaime in name/appearance only and give him Ted's personality, the whole dynamic of BB/BG doesn't work with Booster and Jaime.

I thought I'd seen some comics with Jaime Reyes and Booster Gold....

Just checked and apparently the last pre-New 52 Booster Gold series had backup Jaime Reyes solo stories. I guess that must be what I was thinking of.

They were on an episode of Smallville together I think.

Bad analogy the MCU Nick Fury was based on the Ultimate's Nuck Fury who was based on Samuel L. Jackson. Unlike the Tv version where Nick was played David Hassilhof.

I say Armie Hammer for Booster and Andrew Garfield for Ted Kord.

I can't think of a young latino actor to play Jaime. Any ideas?

^ With neither The Lone Ranger nor The Man from UNCLE setting the world alight, I wonder if Hammer is damaged goods when it comes to co-headlining a movie as part of a double act? Neither is his fault of course, but even so.

^Well, sure -- that's why Arrow had to use Ray Palmer instead of Ted. (Although Kord Industries exists in the Arrowverse too.)
