Warner Bros. Circling David Ayer for DC Comics’ ‘Suicide Squad’

Farci is known for his unreliable reporting, so this isn't surprising.

With Faraci, it's less "unreliable reporting" so much as it is "more than willing to make stuff up in order to fit his narrative." (See: "Snyder is getting secretly fired from Justice League" / "Suicide Squad needs to be funnier" / "People internally refer to the movie as Man of Murder," etc.) He was also bleating on and on a while back that Joaquin Phoenix was the true casting for Doctor Strange, and Cumberbatch was just a smokescreen.

This is his reaction to someone leaking the screenplay for Fantastic Four after opening weekend (and the guy he's berating, we will note, never actually leaked the thing and Faraci never apologized):

Faraci is both wrong all the time and despicable - and those are his good points.

I don't really care about most of these characters - like Deadshot, which is actually a good thing since it means I don't care if they change them. Harley & Joker both seem terrific from what we've seen so far.

Really love the new trailer. Shows how easily you can have a really dark movie that's also a lot of fun to watch at the same time.

The city looks abandoned - so I'm *guessing* there is some form of biological weapon that has 'zombified' what's left of the population - they are in a race against the Joker and his crew for the cure or the virus itself - this is 100% guess rather than spoilers.
How would Enchantress fit into your theory? I'm honestly curious. She seems to be a big wildcard when it comes to the plot right now. We see a lot of footage of her in the trailers, but she doesn't appear to be part of the Squad, or with the Joker either.

Oh yeah, I'd be happy if more of the DC movies had this kind of tone. It's definitely very different from what Marvel goes for, but it's still fun.
EDIT: I'm kind of amazed people still get so worked up over reshoots. There have been plenty of times where movies have gone back for reshoots, and still ended up being great.

YIKES!

A classy guy, he is not. I almost don't know how to interpret these tweets.

Earlier in the thread I asked about Deadshot's mask, and they do have it in a still from the trailer on IGN. It must have been in the action montage, because I watched the trailer twice, and I apparently missed it twice.

Wow, that is a Zach Snyder level horrible explanation for a horrible decision. Joker is many things, but a tattooed gangster? no, just no. Not even Nolan got the character that wrong. sure, some versions of Joker were originally old school gangsters. That does not translate into stereotypical modern day gang member, though. But, whatever. Its a terrible part being played by a pretentious idiot. I never thought someone could do a worse Joker then Christopher Nolan. At this point, I'll take Nolan's grim, almost humorless philosopher who calls himself Joker over the stupid looking nut played by the guy who thinks sending screwed up stuff to cast members makes him edgy. Also, I'm pretty sure Ayer is as bad as Snyder, which is terrifying. Can someone at DC call Michael bay? He's horrible, but still better than anyone else they've hired.

Yeah, I think Ayer is thinking of the wrong kind of gangster here with Joker. I could see Joker being a Sopranos or Godfather style gangster, but not really the tattooed gang banger type.

Of course they do, but the style he's going for seems more gang banger than mobster to me.

Have you ever seen Russian Mafia/Bratva gangsters (or Mexican Mafia and Yakuza for that matter)? They're covered in prison tattoos.

The Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill Jokers are all pretty diverse variations on a theme. That's before you even consider how he's been written in the comics. So I've no problem with Leto giving us yet another variation on the clown prince of crime.
