Warner Bros. Circling David Ayer for DC Comics’ ‘Suicide Squad’

what's weird is I have the exact same tattoos.

It's definitely different but it's all about how he pulls off the character overall.
 
I like it.

I'd have preferred if the inking was a bit more "jail-tatt" or made to look self styled/inflicted.

The proof'll be in the pudd'n, I suppose.
 
If they got rid of the teeth and tattoos, I'd give it 9/10. But they're too much IMHO and knock it down to 6/10. I hope they ditch the forehead tattoo in particular. But I do think Leto will give a good performance.

I'm not talking about Leto and his actual band, I'm talking about the Joker's look. It looks like a cover shot for Kerrang magazine (see example links below, in case you don't know what that is). The "Damaged" tattoo across his forehead looks ridiculous. It's like what a 13 year old emo kid would want the Joker to look like.

I have absolutely no doubt that Leto will nail the role in terms of performance, and I'm not writing the whole film off based on this image, but I really don't like that look at all. Sorry.
 
Don't care for the tats and I'm mixed on the teeth. Otherwise it looks fine. Some people rightly say "remember the first pic of Ledger?" For my age group it's "remember when they announced that comedian Michael Keaton was going to play Batman and people both in AND out of fandom were like "what the fuck?!"" Keaton did a great job, so did Ledger. I'll be more than happy to give Leto a chance to wow me.
 
I can't quite articulate the reason why but I really, really hate that all of Joker's tattoos are derived from his "name."

And that was extremely stupid too, and Morrison is the only person I remember ever using that look (Morrison's Batman run had some of the stupidest villains and new looks for old ones than any others I've read). Although, at least the Morrison version didn't have a ton of tattoos like this movie version. Honestly, remove the tattoos, and it could be decent. I'd even ignore the metal teeth, but the tattoos just make him look like a Joker obsessed fan.
 
After not liking ledgers look when his first promo photo was released i'm not going to say much on this except that I don't like the tattoos. It's like something a fan of the Joker on faceboringbook would post.
 
Please just lose the forehead tattoo and I'm fine with it.
 
The tattoos and bad teeth are too much. What about the purple suit? To me, that is as much a part of the Joker's look as the white skin and green hair. I hope we get at least one scene with him in the purple suit.
 
It is better. My only complaint is that I wish they had made the smile more dramatic, here he just looks like he's wearing lipstick.
 
I can't find the article right now, but I read today he does NOT have those tattoos in the movie. All the spy cam shots we've seen don't have them on there. It was just for that one photo.
