WandaVision anticipation thread

Pairing up Darcy and Jimmy Woo should be a lot of fun.
Looking at those trailers, its not looking good.

I was hoping that the sitcom stuff was window dressing for something more and would be over fairly quickly, but if they do full episodes as mostly sitcom then this is going to really suck. I don't want to watch send ups to shitty sitcoms that were being made when my parents were kids. Parodying old sitcoms is a funny single episode gag, its an absolutely asinine ongoing premise for a MCU show. I fucking loathe shows like Bewitched, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Brady Bunch, etc, I don't need to see extended parodies of those kind of shows. I guess I can just skip past all the sitcom stuff for the 5 seconds of actual plot we'll be getting, probably until the last episode or two when the actual show will start.

The 5 day countdown video has a bunch of new footage.

Just saw the Wandavision trailer during the ABC NFL Football broadcast. I noticed that the tv segments set in the 50-90s are the 4:3 aspect ratio, while the 2000s portions are in the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Something I hadn't picked up on my little YouTube screen.

That's cool, I think the other ads have all been showing everything with same aspect ratio.

Marvel.com has posted an overview of a Zoom press conference they did for WandaVision this weekend. It gives some interesting new insights into things and is definitely worth a read.
I also rewatched the trailer, and now that I knew to look for it, I did notice the aspect ratio changing between the real world and sitcom scenes.

You haven't been following anything about this show, have you. It has been known for quite some time that this is the set up.

I've been following it. I just thought all the sitcom stuff would be a small to moderate part of the show, mixed with non sitcom stuff thoughout the run (basically having it just be one part of the ongoing plot). I didn't know that whole episodes were going to be basically straight up sitcom episodes based on shit that was considered old and boring long before I was born.

The reviews say that if you're not familiar with the sitcoms, you will not get the same level of enjoyment from this show. Very weird creative choice given that the MCU fanbase skews young...

I have literally never seen more then clips of the sitcoms its parodying. Unless it is secretly hiding parodies of MASH, Seinfeld or Fraiser, I'm not in the demographic that the show was looking for, which is apparently MCU fans who are old enough to remember the 50s.

Pairing up Darcy and Jimmy Woo should be a lot of fun.

Then just block me or stop responding, its starting to feel like focused harassment from you. I don't give a shit about your opinion either, but I don't go trolling your posts whenever I see one

God, it's a joke, lighten up. And honestly, it's not even directed you, I'm directing it at myself to remind me that all that happens when I try to respond to your posts like that is that we end up arguing. And I'm not going to block you, because I've never blocked someone and I never will. It would drive me absolutely insane knowing that people are posting things in threads like this that I can't see.
If you don't want to get responses like that, then maybe you shouldn't post stuff that you have to know by now is just going to annoy people. People have gotten into enough arguments with you by now, that you must know what kind of a reactions you're going to get out of people when you post stuff like what I responded to. There have been a lot of times where I've started to post something, but then realized it would not end well and deleted the post. Maybe you should try that some time.

There is always a "show ignored content" key down at the bottom of the page. Most of the people I have on ignore I have so just because I don't want to get notifications when they post. I still read their posts.

Same here. I occasionally click on it when I see a series of posts that don't make any sense until I realize there a bunch of ignored posts missing. Like in this thread.

I'm not going to not post something because its an opinion that isn't popular. If you want that, you should really just read your own posts and ignore everyone else. I ave my opinions, and the whole point of a forum is to post opinions, discuss things, etc, and as part of that everyone is going to disagree with other people, with varying frequency. That's just how it goes.

The thing is you are very skillful at coming off as the biggest asshole possible whenever you share those opinions.

The age of season dumps is coming to an end. Studios realized that (virtual) cooler talk is very important for a show's word of mouth marketing.
Very true, though with so many people being told to remain home right now and days of the week really meaning little (thanks to the oddball effect), I'd have thought that season dumps would be a far better way of helping customers through this hellish second wave.

Sharing opinions is fine, but when you know your opinions are just going to start a fight, it's best to just keep it to yourself, or at least try to find a way to word that isn't going to just piss people off.
I'm sorry, but you have posted here enough, and gotten enough bad reactions from your posts to know when you are going to start a fight, and yet you seem to make absolutely no effort to try to prevent a fight from happening.
If you want to say you don't like something that is fine, but the problem is, whether you intend it to or not, the way you go about it tends to be very insulting towards the people involved and the people who like it. There ways to say you don't like something without doing that, so maybe you should try taking a good look at what you are about post, and consider how other people might react to it. Try taking a look at it from the perspective of the people you are talking about, or people who like them and might get defensive about them. If you think it might piss someone off, and you don't want to do that, then maybe try and find a different way to say it.

Disappointed to see this is another series being released week to week instead of all at once :(

It'll be easier for ME at least. I always hated how my watching buddies could somehow have the time to see every season of Stranger Things in one or two days while it would usually take me a week.

One episode a week, workable.
