BrookeStephen, would you care to share a few renderings of some of the rooms that weren't featured on the TV show, like the emergency bridges, FJ's engineering hull engine room, and maybe a visicom? Thanks!

I'm sorry FalTorPan, but I haven't detailed all that many areas, trying to focus on the large scale issues and eventually narrowing my focus. Except for the bridge, transporter and primary engineering, I haven't done much detail.

Sofar I haven't even built the deck with secondary engineering.

No visicoms - although thanks for reminding me!
That would make several large rooms come to life.

There's not even any cutlery in the dining areas... maybe later.

All that titanium and no napkins...

You saw for yourself in the pics I put up of the Millennium Falcon in the Shuttle Bay that there really isn't much to see there... until I figure out how to put the skin on the ship and poke out the windows...

What can I say - the project grew on me.

I started out just trying to create a bridge - there were only a handful that I could find on the web at the time - all these creative people, but very few of these great models! And none of the models were in VRML.

Apparently VRML comes with a label that states - "For External Use Only".

Over the last couple of years, it's all added up to some 410 flat files and a few mb of VRML text. I use VBA and several tables in MS Access to keep track of the details of ring-walls, straight corridors and interruptions like doors and windows. Most of the 410 files are actually made within the VBA code - I change the database records, run one of the programs, and new component files pop out! so I don't actually have to keep track of what's in the files - it's all coordinated from within the VBA code and Access tables.

And there's some JavaScript to animate everything - can't make that simple! But I do use proto or prototype elements where ever I can - they're like a cookie-cutter approach - sort of object-oriented.

Maybe immensely gratifying is more true!
I'm still hoping to get you all interested in making your own models.

The VRML TOS Enterprise is now slightly more in synch with the Franz Joseph Designs deckplans... and praise be to Tin Man! Yeah!!! for help in catching my gaff.

Here's me extending the corridor out past the first ring of cargo holds:


This is me removing the segments of the two ring walls so people can get down the corridor:


This is me after moving all the doors and walls around and inserting a bulkhead near the end of the extended corridor as per the deckplans... boy do I look tired!!



And this is the final - a 3d anaglyph - of me adding the two pocket doors to access the transporters (but not the transporter machinery!)

Pardon my ignorance, but what kind of 3D glasses do you need to view your images? They look very cool and I'd like to see them as they were intended to be seen.

Well... ya got me there... I don't have the glasses... so I haven't even seen my work... now I'm wondering if your signature quote applies to me!

I'm pretty sure the red/blue glasses will work, as opposed to the red/cyan which may or may not work, and the polarized 3d glasses which definitely won't work.

I'm dying here - I can't find these glasses anywhere near where I live, and I was just in downtown Toronto and couldn't find them anywhere!! ARGH!

So when you get glasses and you look at my 3d pics and my 3d videos, you are now obligated by law (I hereby formally deputize you) to tell me how it looks!
