VOY's "Faces" TOS style

Tactical Drone

The episode Faces in Voyager was the one where the Vidians extracted B'Lanna's Klingon DNA from her human half and made it into a separate fully Klingon being and leaving what was left as a completely human B'Lanna.

What if this idea had happened in TOS, what if some alien race split Spock into one complete Vulcan and one complete human? It would be interesting to see a fully human Spock, with fully human emotions interacting with a totally logical Vulcan version of himself.

That wouldn't have been a bad idea. Maybe instead of Alternative Factor.

Woops, I got Enemy Within and Alternative Factor confused. Enemy Within isn't a bad episode. I still think the Spock idea would have worked really well, though.

TNG could have done it with Troi, since she was half & half...but we already got a glimpse of "human" Troi in TNG 'The Loss'. She was a real whiny bitch.

Of course, the point of splittin' Torres was to get a full blood Klingon in an area of space very far from the Klingon Empire. Why would anyone have wanted or needed to split Spock in two?

Well, the point was to show Bellana's internal conflict. Spock clearly had an internal conflict between his human side and his Vulcan side.

I think this could have been really interesting. I would be especially curious to see the aftermath. I wonder if it would have changed him at all?

I've always felt that Voyager's Nemesis episode would have been a great Original Series episode. Very poignant allegory for the times if it had been. Possibly using one of the secondary characters like Scotty, or Sulu in the Chakotay role. Though I doubt TOS make-up budget would have been quite up to the challenge.

That would have been my favorite episode of TOS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Wasnt there a short story in the 70's about such a thing as Spock being seperated like that?

I think it was in Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath's Star Trek : New Voyages...I think it was "Ni Var"

If I remember it was a very good story. But i havent read it in a long long time.

No Ni Var, you were right. It was a good story. And showed how much of Spock's "human half" was responsible for his control.
