Voyager writer on "Jeopardy!"

Had the game show "Jeopardy!" on TV and Alex introduced the reigning champ, "a television writer named Lisa Klink." I recognized the name immediately as a Voyager staffer. Cool! She's in the lead by 500 going into "Double Jeopardy!"

ETA:She ended the ep as the winner with a five-day total of over $70,000. She'll get through the writers strike just fine.

Yes she will.

She wrote 13 episodes and was executive story editor on the middle seasons which means she rewrote others peoples stuff if it was deficient...

I wonder how Brannon and Rick would do in this game?

Ah, the culprit revealed. The single staff writer who was responsible for me voluntarily stopping my pitches to TV Trek after ten years. :brickwall:

Like many of Voyager's writing staff, Lisa Klink wrote good episodes, and, uh, less-than-good fare. But I'll remember the good. Like "Sacred Ground".

Congratulations to her, anyway.

Interesting, considering she started off by submitting spec scripts to TNG and DS9 -- perhaps one of the last people to get into the racket via that avenue.

Just remember -- writing, and taking writing pitches are two different arts entirely ...

On topic, writers who actually write tend to do extremely well on Jeopardy! I made the final contestant pool almost 20 years ago. So I hope she cleans up on the show.

Well, she got really lucky, too, that both Daily Doubles on Friday's show were under the category ``Di-kironium Quantum Fissure Modulations''.

I saw her as a returning 3-day champ, excellent!!!

Looked her up and she was with VOY's 3rd and 4th seasons...the best periods IMO.

Oh, darn... Lisa Klink was leading going into Final Jeopardy, but she was the only one who got the answer wrong, and so she lost. So I only got to see one episode she was in.

And there were a couple of Trek-related clues that she presumably would've gotten, but others rang in before her -- one was LeVar Burton's Emmy-winning role as Alex Haley's ancestor (Kunta Kinte), the other was a word containing "ick" and meaning a medical center like Dr. McCoy's (sickbay).

I thought she was going to win too. Was also surprised she wasn't quicker about the sickbay question but who knows how we'd all respond under those lights and pressure. Sorry she missed the final Jeopardy question. Pearl Buck wasn't that tough an answer and Klink was probably mentally slapping herself and going, "Doh!"

In any event, at least she earned a tidy sum over the 4 days. Well done.
