Exactly. The Falcon, like most SW ships, is armed with lasers. And lasers are not a threat to Starfleet vessels.

Also: The Falcon does not, that I'm aware of, have shields.

Actually, they refer to deflector shields in ANH.

On the Falcon itself?

Luke: "What's that flashing?"
Han, smacking his hand away: "We're losing a deflector shield. Go strap yourselves in. I'm gonna make the jump to light speed."

Okay, maybe you're right. The Falcon does not have shields... ANYMORE. :p

I doubt any Star Wars ship could even dent a Federation starship let alone penetrate the shields. Lasers wouldn't even go through the wimpy navigation shields according to TNG.

Plus, Voyager could probably beam a bomb onto the MF and destroy it from within. I *know* they don't have Transporters in the SW 'verse.

(long pause)

...they don't, do they? ;)

To transport anything aboard another ship, the shields have to be down.

Why is this about two so impossibly matched ships? Everyone knows the VS debates that still go on. It makes no sense why this debate isn't about evenly matched ships (or as closely as possible).

I don't think the Falcon's weapons could penetrate the hull.

The Falcon is armed with turbolasers (aka turboblasters) which are the equivalent of phasers, and are as above a laser as a phaser is. On larger ships (e.g.Star Destroyers) they are a match for Voyager and could blast Voyager to bits unless the captain was careful and skilled enough to escape the blasts. On smaller ships like the Falcon, they do less or no damage at all, unless the pilot of the Falcon knows what to target, and more importantly, can figure out the frequency for the shields of a Starfleet vessel so that they can be penetrated (as seen in Star Trek: Generations)! Unless the captain of the Falcon can wear down the shields of the Voyager with concussion torpedo hits (which can be done, but would take a while) he would be at risk of being hit and blasted by Voyager's torpedoes and phasers.

Don't be ridiculous. Didn't you see the "Force Teleportation" scene? It was in Episode... er... Episode....

Let me get back to you on that one.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

General Skywalker, we need you over here!

Use the force, Luke

MMMMMMMMMZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZPOP

What did you guys need?

They've gotten around that before. In "The Wounded", O'Brien beams aboard the Phoenix despite its shields.

If I remember that episode, O'Brien served aboard that ship and knew about how the shields had a rotating frequency. All he had to do was know when there was a gap the Phoenix's shields and the Enterprise could beam through them.

There would be no advanced information. Therefore, you couldn't beam anything through the opposing ships shields.

Han would fly at the Voyager like he was going to ram it and when they weren't looking he'd stick to its sides for the trip home.

After a few weeks when Han realized Janeway was piss farting around and had no intention of going back, he'd dislodge when they were flying through a quantum tachyon neutrino inversion cosmic string ribbon and shoot the ship from behind, destroying it.

And then we'd ALL cheer!!!

I usually don't take part in these "What is better, the Empre State Building or a Supertanker?" threads, but:

turbolasers (aka turboblasters) which are the equivalent of phasers

You sure about that?

Yes. Here fans with a scientific background dicuss the nature of the energy-weapons called "lasers" in Star Wars in great detail:

http://www.stardestroyer.net/tlc/

The "No Weapon called LASER can harm a starfleet ship, because Picard said so." is pure semantic BS.

^And all of that is Expanded Universe bullshit that isn't worth crap, and the idiots at Star Destroyer.net wouldn't know how to calculate the energy required to blow up a random asteroid if their lives depended on it. Scientific background my ass, that site is fucking retarded.

According to SD.net, a turbo-laser battery is capable of firing bolts with energy equivalent to multiple megaton nuclear warheads because of that scene in ESB where a turbolaser blows up some asteroids of unknown size and composition. How fucked up is that?
