Voyager needs to be rewritten to include this decades pop culture

Yes that is such fine french tea that he drinks..

Janeway knows her Mahler.

I would like them to make up more great composers that are from a hundred years in their past. Just have a refrain played and a mention of the fictional composer. They did that with holonovels, we know about plenty of them. Shmun and T'lana, Dixon Hill. They did that with sports, Buck Bokai and others. What did we get with music.. Beyond Antares.

Why am i always bringing up red dwarf?

Is it really so damn Quotable?

I haven't sat down to watch a decent chunk of Red Dwarf in nearly a decade.

"The three Ms of classical music: Motzart, Mendelssohn and Motorhead."

I'm going to assume the OP was a joke.

Still, this does hit on a challenge the producers faced when bringing elements of art, entertainment and culture into the show. If you use anything too contemporary to the time the show was created, you risk it looking comically dated even just a few years later. (What if Voyager had referenced Six Degrees and Friendster?) This is why the TNG crew listened to, and played, so much classical music. It wasn't just the whole royalty-free thing.

Then why did Next Gen have such horrible 80's clothing and hair? It does look comically dated already!

I wanted to read that, but I've been turned off John Byrne for a few years now since i begun to find about the man behind the pen.

I wonder what sort of beard karl urban is capable of?
