Voyager nailed..this

When I for the first time saw TOS opening sequence it blew me away, granted I was 7 at the time, however, for 1966/7 it was great. But I digress. DS-9 opening in season 1-3, was pretty cool, however when they changed the music and you actually saw Defient going into the wormhole I thought it was much cooler, than 1-3.

Voyager, on the other hand never changed it's opening sequence, it never really had to in my humble opinion. The opening represented the essence of the show, a Star-Ship 75,000 LY's from Earth. They were not really lost, they knew where they were, espically when Harry and Seven finished the Astrometrics Lab in "Year of Hell" pt 1. But they were so far away, they may just have well have been lost. All in all, I really have no complaints about any Trek opening sequences, some are just better than others...

Resistance is Futile

The "all CGI" reference to Voyager is NOT correct. They did use miniatures and models for at least SOME of the spacecraft. I read an interview with someone who worked on the effects for Voyager (forget the name now),
and they talked about filming the opening sequence. He referred specifically to the shot where Voyager pushes ahead through some mist/fog, and the fog sort of gets whispy and blown away as the nose of Voyager plows through it. They got that effect by having air forced through some rubber tubing that was sneakily attached to the front of the filming model. When the air hits the mist, it pushes it out of the way and creates the illusion of voyager pushing past/distubing it. This is a fact.
Wikipedia is wrong yet again.

I agree the titles are stunning and brilliant. However I also think it's unbelievable because in space the "mist/fog" would not cling to the ship's slipstream, because in space I think there would be no slipstream.;)
