Voyager.. I swore I never would

Well I am about to do what I have said for years I would never do... order the complete seasons of Voyager. I own all the other ST series on DVDs plus all the movies and several special box sets, Captains, Borg etc. I have never cared for Janeway so I have only seen the Voyager episodes that came in the fan box sets as I never watched Voyager when it was originally on TV. But the Voyager complete series set is now on Amazon for $95 and for that price I am going to get it. So after all these years I have will 7seasons of "new" (to me) Trek to watch.

Well you could watch some on Netflix first to see if you like it enough to spend the money

I own VOY on DVD too, even though I mostly don't watch it. But a completist's jopb is never done.

I never thought I would because of the cost. (The older release) And now I am content to catch it on Netflix but have DVDs incase it goes away. I am set.

I own DS9 on DVD but the discs have been well-watched so going through it again on Netflix, which keeps telling me if I like it then I'd also like Voyager. I don't know if I'd be willing to sit through it all, maybe up until Kes was axed and it stopped being the show that I liked and just became all about Seven and her sidekicks. I certainly wouldn't buy the whole thing on DVD.

Check CBS they also have the episodes streaming but I don't know if it's free or not. If you have Amazon Prime I believe they are also streaming there

I believe Amazon no longer has the free streaming, but Netflix still does for the time being.

I don't regret having the complete set of Voyager to watch when I choose. Usually end of the day, one episode, glass of wine. Have to be ready to rest it for a while after this current viewing though.. but I like the way it concludes. So watching it has an overall satisfaction from beginning to end. I felt DS9 lost its way toward the end so the thought of committing to the whole journey of that does not appeal. Sadly Next Generation is so corny now! And I don't know when it happened but the Original is pure ham. I guess you out grow things.

The current movies .. don't get me started on those. Kirk isn't cocky with a twinkle in his eye, he's just plain unlikeable, Spock is cardboard, Scotty sounds like a skit, Uhura is the politically perfect kick arse female. Just like the Star Wars movie. I feel like I'm watching a formula that has all the ingredients but each is obvious and try hard.

It is a tragic loss but if you're not really a fan then you weren't into it in the first place. No one here would've swayed me out of it!
