Voyager Deck 1

Enabran

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Obviously the bridge, ready room and briefing room were seen extensively throughout the series, but was any other part of deck 1 ever shown?

From outside pictures it looks like there is an airlock at the back of the deck, and there are two escape pods, but is there anything else that can be seen?

Thanks!

I believe the set they used only in early season two "Alliances" and "Coldfire". It looks like a mini dining room. You can see it on the ship blueprints.

There's scene where Chakotay takes Janeway prisoner and leaves her ready room through the mystery side door, we then see them in a corridor.

Whether the corridor is aft of the ready room on deck one, or they moved lower in the ship is hard to say.

:)

I feel like there was an episode where they used a Jeffries tube that went to deck 1. Can someone confirm this?

IIRC, the Voyager was one of the Trek ships where the bridge was at one point attributed some "independent-ops abilities" - that is, it could be ejected.

This was never actually verified onscreen for any Trek ship, but (IIRC) this time around it was a feature suggested by the actual designers, rather than fan speculation. If we wished to believe in it, we'd probably have to dedicate a lot of room aft of the bridge to this special ability: potentially, a propulsion system, life support resources, systems to soften the landing, gear for roughing it out after landing, alternate means of escape if the airlock door jams, etc.

I'm not a big fan of the concept myself, but it's one option.

Another one I'd like featured is a means of accessing the lower decks in case of total turbolift failure (or in case something large needed to be brought up, something the corridors could take even when the lifts couldn't). The two prominent sets of E-D blueprints have comfortable ramps and staircases, easily included in a ship that big. But even Janeway's vessel might squeeze in something more useful than a vertical ladderway.

Ejecting the bridge seems like an overreaction when you could just tell Neelix they'd moved bridge operations to the special super-secure top-secret location on deck 34 and let him try to find that one instead.

Problem (of sorts) with the two blueprint, it seems to me that Janeway's ready room would have a "private Captain's toilet."

Or doesn't that make sense? The Captain orginally had her own dining room.

:)

I agree with T Girl. The fact we also see belanna access that side door (The cloud) and others in Scattered and the one where Tuvok's mind is brain washed, indicates blueprint two was not a final draft.
