IIRC, the Voyager was one of the Trek ships where the bridge was at one point attributed some "independent-ops abilities" - that is, it could be ejected.
This was never actually verified onscreen for any Trek ship, but (IIRC) this time around it was a feature suggested by the actual designers, rather than fan speculation. If we wished to believe in it, we'd probably have to dedicate a lot of room aft of the bridge to this special ability: potentially, a propulsion system, life support resources, systems to soften the landing, gear for roughing it out after landing, alternate means of escape if the airlock door jams, etc.
I'm not a big fan of the concept myself, but it's one option.
Another one I'd like featured is a means of accessing the lower decks in case of total turbolift failure (or in case something large needed to be brought up, something the corridors could take even when the lifts couldn't). The two prominent sets of E-D blueprints have comfortable ramps and staircases, easily included in a ship that big. But even Janeway's vessel might squeeze in something more useful than a vertical ladderway.
