The shoes in the first one are cute but while I can see what she was trying to do with the ensemble it doesn't work for me. The other two do work well.

Well, I never understood the LA habit of pairing boots with summer clothing but I've seen that look done much worse.

Since that was for a premiere in November, the boots were appropriate. I'm guessing you don't know our climate. Were we to dress for a Minnesota November, we'd be dying of heat stroke.
I was referring to the cropped top. It's so off-the-radar in the major fashion hubs these days that it looks as antiquated to my eyes as football-pad shoulders. I always forget things take a few years to trickle down and out elsewhere.

Believe it or not I heard shoulder pads are coming back. Something about the economy - when things go south people are reassured by a strong silhouette I guess. Lucky me my closet hasn't been completely cleaned out since the last time they were in.

Shoulders are indeed back, but it's not the football pads of the 80s. Thank God!
