  • No--I'm just not up for it, this year.

    Votes: 5 12.2%

I always vote.

My wife votes permanent absentee, but I like going to the polls on election day. It's a great democratic ritual.

Early voting. Getting off work is a pain in the butt, in my job, so it's easier to do early voting since I can go on the weekends.

Not for me, I'm not an American :)
Canadian elections, unlike yours, aren't held on a fixed basis. There could be an election call tomorrow, or next year, or even later.

^spontaneous elections? how quixotic - how very UN-Canadian seeming!

It's very much a privilege to vote and I do so whenever I can.

I always vote and this is an important Election. I typically vote Absentee so looking forward to when I get the ballot in the mail and what is going to be on it. I know there's governor, senator, probably a whole crap load of propositions this state doesn't need or can't afford, and probably some local representative elections. I'm very interested really in the Governor and Senator Race.

I don't bother with the primaries unless there is an issue that is also being voted upon. I like early voting because it eliminates the lines on election day and can also take place at a time that is convenient to me.

Same here, an election is called at the whim of the current government, up to a maximum of 5 years from the last one.

No. I haven't voted in 20 years and certainly dont intend to start now. I just dont see voting as that relevant or important. It is just something people use to make them feel part of something larger tan themselves or to blame when things go wrong. Politicians have very little ability to make positive changes in out lives so they drum up false problems so they can solve them through legislation.

For me, it's all about unemployment this year. I'm looking at who helped, and who didn't. Who paid attention, and who ignored those of us who couldn't get work.

^Please, folks...take care. This isn't politcal. That's for another time....

(As I said...if I can do it for a thread....)

Bad politicians are elected by people who don't vote. ;)

We are not supposed to have an election this year (arguably, though with the chronic instability of Italian government, you never know!), but I always vote on all elections, from the EU parliament to city council.

I don't know yet. Both sides in the local election seem to have gotten ahold of my private cell number and are constantly bombarding me with pre-recorded calls that I can't make stop since it's from a different number each time. Obviously, I'm pretty irritated at the whole bunch of them right now.

:p

If there's an election here in November, I'll vote. I always vote, in both federal and provincial elections.

But right now, I think most Canadians are enjoying not having to vote. We've had too many damn federal elections lately--three in the past six years.

that deos seem like a lot. we'd have managed to completely self-destruct with that many elections to wrangle over. :scream:
