I know. Shocking.

In all seriousness--November 2nd, 2010, is coming up.

Do you intend to vote--and if so, how? Early voting? Absentee balot? Standard "election day"?

If not, why not?

(As I said...keep it as non-political as humanly possible. I know it sounds hard...but you can do it. :))

I rarely vote in non-presidential elections. So I probably won't. I don't even know who's running for what around here.

Yes, I always vote. I'm not sure what you mean by "early voting" but I suppose that's what I will be doing...mailing in my absentee ballot, though I will not be outside of my district, I will be at home. I've only actually gone to the polls the very first time I voted.

Yeah--"early voting" is when certain voting booths are open a week or so (sometimes more) before the election day. I guess it's their way of streamlining the process--and providing convenience for those who fear they'll have no time to do it on the "official" date.

Still, I'd say your own process kinda counts. :)

I always vote, as it's compulsory here in Australia to vote. But won't be voting in November, as I'm ineligible to vote.

I voted yes, because I will certainly be voting in this coming election... it's too important for me not to.

How can you be ineligble to vote? Even if you were dead or were a fictional character you should still be able to vote in most US districts.

Probably based on the fact he's not a US citizen. Could be a shot in the dark, though.

it's compulsory here in Australia to vote.

How do they enforce that?

Fines are given for not voting. I remember back in the 80's, my parents got one when they forgot when visiting Australia's Wonderland. They simply just forgot.

Well considering I am not American citizen, have never visited USA and am not related to any Americans in my family.

I will be voting, as I exercise that right every chance I get. It will be via absentee ballot.

I vote in most elections and, more recently, I vote absentee, though that still sometimes comes down to dropping it off at the polling place on election day, rather than mailing it sufficiently in advance. If early voting is different in some important respect from voting absentee, I'm not sure it's an available option where I live.

I find this admonition amusing, somehow. :)

I'm definitely going to be voting. I've voted in every election I've been eligible to since I reached voting age. I feel like it would be a slap in the face of everyone who has sacrificed so much to secure that right if I just squander it by not using it.

^Bless you, madame. :)

I know. Hence, my first line in the post.

Hey--if I can do it for a thread....

Needless to say,I will be voting. However, I must vote absentee, due to distance matters involving my enrollment in a university.

I'll be Voting on Election Day at the usual place, and hoping they have chocolate chip cookies and brownies on sale this time.
