It's only a two-way tie now, so "let them sort out an agreement" is more usual...

A more complex tie would require something more, I feel

I had no clear idea who that even was in Miss L's entry but voted for it simply because of how well composed and striking it was.

Well done.

But, yeah, I do think some here vote for the character, not the artistic quality.

Yeah, I generally agree. That's why when I enter something, even if it's just a basic screencap or something, I always try to spruce up the colors and sharpen things up to make it look nicer. I don't like just cropping it down and calling it good.
