Well, it seems the theme was a bit too ambitious. We only have two entries this month (and technically, one of them was a few minutes over the deadline ;)).

Anyway, these are the contestants:

Into that good night.... by Garm bel Iblis

A Good Soldier by ghiaman74

The poll will be open for 3 days. You have ONE vote.

Sorry about being late. In my defense I started posting it about ten minutes before the deadline, but it took my 15 minutes to figure out that it was the font in MS Word that was causing me alot of issues when I pasted the passages into the post window. Thanks for letting me slide! ;)

wait, I thought you said CET? Forgive my ignorance, but I thought you ment central us, which is roughly gmt-6 if i recall correctly... I thought I still had a couple hours :( Dag nabit!

Well, hope you still enjoy mine once it's up...

where is CET then?

CET is Central European Time. Central US time would be CST. It's GMT+1 (sometimes +2 due to Daylights Saving Time).

Sorry for the confusion. :(

Ah, ok then. Now I know for future reference. I forget quite a few of you are on the other side of the puddle.

Maybe I should change my location field back, but I like 'City of Dis' as location so much.

nah, but maybe for future reference a gmt+/- time code would be helpful too. Even if I had known it was central europe, I wouldn't have known how many hours ahead of me that was. But GMT I know just fine.

Count Zero--Are you permitting people to vote for themselves? I know that's been against the rules in most every other challenge.

Well, there are a number of online time converters (which I had to use a few times myself to determine what the deadline was in previous contests :))

Mmh, usually it wasn't spelt out and there were even a few cases where it happened. It's a public poll and I'd consider voting for yourself inappropriate but I don't think it's necessary to 'legislate' it.

I think the self-voting is one of the "un-written rule" scenario's. And mostly it's just considered bad form. I think I've only seen once where someone decided to say self-voting was a disqualifier.

I did vote for myself, since its only 2 entries I reccomend Garm bel Iblis does the same to cancel out the effect. I don't participate on a regular basis and did not recall the rule/tradition.

I voted for Garm because I felt it fit the theme better. However, had it been a different theme I'd have switched my vote. Both good stories and impressive that anyone could even meet the theme requirements-imitation is harder work than most people think.

Congratulations, Garm bel Iblis! :) Can't wait to find out what theme you'll choose. And don't forget to post your story in the 'winning entries' thread!
