Vote For The Best Villain In Star Trek!

Khan by a mile.

No other villain still gets mentioned centuries after the height of his power or 80 years after his death.

Well, I think the only reason he was mentioned post-TOS was due to his revival in TOS. Likely he'd just be forgotten if not for Kirk.

But my fave is, and always will be Dukat. From a Military Commander to a Warlord to the Avatar of a race of Evil Gods. Guy knows how to rise through the ranks.

The entire Bad Guy Team from The Savage Curtain satisfies those criteria.

If you want a villain who is developed as a complex, compelling character in only a single episode of screen time, I’ll cast a vote for Kodos.

While I agree with most of those advocating Khan and Dukat, I have three honorable mentions.

First honorable mention: Gowron. One of the most despicable Klingons, and he has those crazy blue eyes! Man, Robert O'Reilly really hammed it up as that character!

Second honorable mention: Weyoun. A conniving, scheming, charismatic sycophant. Jeffrey Combs was so good in that and other roles.

Third honorable mention: Borg Queen from FC. Alice Krige oozed evil and managed to tempt Data for less than a second -- an eternity for an android. And she was sexy in a techno-BDSM kind of way.

Interesting choice. Not sure I entirely agree with you, but I can certainly see where you're coming from. I'm not sure if he counts as a villain or a 'friendly' antagonist. Perhaps a friendly villain? :p

Definitely agree. Quite the slimy character that you'd have to be careful about how you spoke around, since he could quite easily get the better of you verbally.

She definitely oozes evil, but I don't see where this 'sexy' label keeps coming from?

Dukat has multiple seasons. Kahn had one episode and one movie to chill the screen. Yet, Kahn is the first to come to mind when I think of Star Trek villians. I have to vote

KAAAHHHHHNNNNNN!!!!!

That's because he got a big screen movie that more people went to see than multiple seasons of a niche market show. Plus he was more overblown and a foil to the main character and less a character on his own. And more hammy.

I sent them a mail a few days ago but I got "undelivered message" mail... Then I tried again, and this time I didn't get that mail... so... can I be sure that they got my mail? Is there some sort of "Thank you for your vote" confirmation message?

Q

The interesting thing about Khan is if you walk up to anybody in the street and ask them to name a Star Trek villain, ninety percent of them will say Khan. Then ask them if they've ever heard of Space Seed. Basically, He's Trek's 'Joker'.

That's because he's the one that got a big picture back when Trek movies weren't really a niche market. Odds are Nero may also be remembered as well because his movie wasn't a niche market one (not AS niche as the others were).
