First of all, I'd like to make an announcement. I've been pondering whether to do this or not for a while now. With this being the 100th contest I decided the time was right. So this will be the last contest run by me. Starting with contest #101, Wicca who Wonta will be taking over. I'd like to thank her for taking over. I know you guys will be in good hands.

I wanted to thank everyone that entered their avatars in this contest. And also thanks for being patient with me in the last couple of months. Oh, and please READ THE VOTING INSTRUCTIONS!!!


Vote for your favourite avatars. You've got at least till February 5th 7am CET to vote.

VOTING RULES: You are NOT allowed to vote for yourself. You are allowed to vote for TWO avatars in the three regular categories (Episode, Theme, Random Theme). You are allowed to vote for FOUR avatars in the special category "100 - The Best Of". Votes cast by people not obeying the rules will be subtracted from the total vote count.

The generous volunteer work that some members do above and beyond their jobs and real lives is appreciated, and its also hard to find hours (because thats what these contests take) in one's life to run these things.

Bigfoot has been very generous to do so for our enjoyment, and it has not troubled the regular contributors to have slight delays... or any delays. For any reason. Thanks so much for your time and effort.

WWW- its awesome of you to step in, I know its a ton of work. I for one love doing these avatars, so I thank you too. And if you need extra time for any reason- take it. Those who matter won't mind, and those who mind don't matter.

I second that. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's ingratitude. Ezri--if you don't like the way the contest is run, I would suggest finding one more to your liking.

I was gonna reply to one of Ezri II's "constructive" posts, but I realized you guys would take care of it. Thanks for proving me right.

And also thanks for all the kind words. I wouldn't have been running the contest for this long if all the regulars (you know who you are) weren't so great.

Ezri - If you were one of my students in RL I'd have to take action because of bullying. Just take your avatars and go somewhere else if you can't play nice!
And since you don't seem to have read my post in the other contest thread I'll post it in here too:

There is really no reason to be rude to BigFoot, who has donated his time so we can have fun making avatars. It's only a game and if a thread is late there's a reason. There's plenty of other avatar contests if you don't like this one. The general SF/F forum runs a 7 day contest that is rarely late.

Personally, I want to thank BigFoot for doing a great job this last year or so! I hope you'll enter an avatar or two, or just stop by and chat in the coming contest threads.

Ezri II, you now have a warning for trolling.

First of all, BigFoot has gone out of his way with ALOT of hard work for many months now, running this contest. He has been reliable, kind, and most reasonable.

There is absolutely NO reason for you to make snide remarks about the running of his contests, as from this moderator's POV, they were some of the most well-run contests on this entire BOARD.

In short, we were damn lucky to have him do this for us. I know that I feel that I was damn lucky to have him do this for ME.

I am grateful to Ripley for agreeing to take them over. But I can only HOPE that she does as good a job as BigFoot has done for the last couple of years.

Further, the remark about kissing girls and getting out of parent's basements? Completely uncalled for. But I'll tell you one thing - I've talked to BigFoot...and I've seen pictures of him. And let me assure you - the guy would have NO problem getting all the female attention he could handle. Including me, if I lived in Slovenia and was about 10 years younger.

Meanwhile, you, my friend, are sitting around on a Star Trek message board taking petty potshots at contests that others have worked very hard on....and that you ought to be grateful to have.

Because everyone knows that has never happened in America, and if it ever had, this comment would be extremely disrespectful to the families of the victims, not to mention crass to all normal human sensibilities.

Hope it is not trolling. But is someone wants to kill just to kill. Why kill only a single person when you can kill as many as you can. Think about it, if I kill just a single person or kill as many as I can I go to prison the rest of my life. But the real kicker. If someone gets killed because of a DS9 avatar contest it takes the fun out of the game.
