or, people could, y'know, just put the names of the creators in the voting fields... radical, i know!

^ Yeah, like we used to. Having all the pictures in the poll, then again in the first post takes up too much space. Also, I don't think there was ever a problem of people voting for their favorite member instead of the av, which I believe is why some folks started this av-only-in-the-poll business. I think we all know it's an avatar contest. IMO, of course.

All good points, and worth considering. But, this is just for fun. So, I don't see worrying over the "rules and regulations" too much. And while some people are very adamant about certain guidelines (for example, I don't understand why we are limited to a 140x140 image size...why not 150x150? 175x15? It would give us more room to work with in the avatar itself), I don't see a problem in stretching things or just doing things differently to make it more exciting? Would more restrictions help? Only names in the voting section? No animated avatars? Vote for only one instead of multiple?

Nah. We're just making Doctor Who pictures into smaller Doctor Who pictures in hopes of finding the coolest, best Doctor Who avatar ever. Why? Because we love Doctor Who. Perhaps to an unhealthy level sometimes? Either way, no fretting over the avatar contest...
