I am at a loss where to put this at (help) either fantasy or fact..star trek stellar cartography or where? I did a forum search after searching this section of the forum and only once did spaceengine.org get mentioned 2 or so years ago.

but IF it is ok to post the thread here and such..IDK // maybe I should of posted in the game thread? mmmmm I am unsure spaceengine.org is like a different program(link below) but space engine is still in beta

ETA: Microsoft published a software product back in about 1994 that allowed you to explore the galaxy in a similar fashion to Celestia and also pilot various space vehicles. I don't think they developed it for very long - perhaps neither very good nor popular?
