Vincent and the Doctor clips

It does look like a fun episode. I liked the implications of Rory being absent from Amy's life that were made. Also I liked the way Matt Smith played the Doctor during the exchange.

Van Gogh is Scottish now? That said, if RTD were still in charge, he'd probably be gay instead.

Still, looks like it could be a good-un. Even if Amy getting those sunflowers and suggesting he paint them is reminiscent of the way Rose in Tooth and Claw kept trying to get Queen Victoria to say she was not amused. It'd be difficult to top the irritation (...irritatingness?) of that though.

You and I both fully well know that it's a longstanding convention in film and television to cast characters based upon famous persons from foreign nations with actors who have the native accents of the country the production originates from rather than the accent of the country the character is from.

That said, if RTD were still in charge, he'd probably be gay instead.

And what possible reason do you have to say that? RTD didn't depict Charles Dickens as gay, nor Madame de Pompadour, nor Queen Victoria, nor Queen Elizabeth I, nor Queen Elizabeth II, nor Agatha Christie. The only famous historical character depicted as an LGBT individual was William Shakespeare, and that's grounded on the fact that there is real historical speculation that Shakespeare may have been bisexual.

Or do you just like to make heterosexist jokes for the hell of it?

Well, amongst other things, it seems pretty obvious to me that Amy was flirting with Vincent in that scene, whereas I don't think Rose was flirting with Her Majesty in "Tooth and Claw"...
