Villains of Star Trek

KHAAAAAAAN!!!
I think Khan was the best Trek villian...EVER.

Close second was the Borg.

3rd would be the Dominion.

4th is the Klingons.

Sela...who is one my favorite Trek character...came across as a good girl trying a little too hard to be bad. That's my theory on why all her schemes failed.

I think the WORST villian(s)...Khan being the exception...was any "villian" on any of TOS 79 episodes.

You obviously missed episodes featuring Kang, Ron Tracey and Gary Mitchell :techman:

while not a villain per se, i'd definitely put Q at the top of my favourite Trek antagonists...

fantastic character, more morally ambiguous than evil or villainous, but definitely the most interesting antagonist in my eyes...

I saw them. I just found Kang an arrogant S.O.B. The other 2, I felt, overacted circles around William Shatner.

Q holds Picard responsible for things beyond his influence like the development of humankind as well as its past crimes, he shows him his limits as well as the dangers that await him and in the very end he shows him his potential.
He has no manners and his constant pestering is annoying but is he really evil? Doesn't he actually help Picard when he warns him of the Borg, shows him that his troublesome past made him the man he is and provokes Picard into pondering about what humankind should actually do out there in the pilot and the finale?

I'd go so far and claim that he is a friend of Picard or humankind in general. Not a nice friend, not somebody you'd ever acknowledge as a friend but a catalytic friend, somebody who is enormously helpful in your development while being a total dick at the same time.
