CBSN just posted a nice video interview with Michelle Yeoh. The are a couple new shots from the desert planet. However, I think this is a really good interview in terms of what her character is going to be and how she is playing her.

If that were true it would make her over 100 years old. the Romulan war ended in 2161.

Yes, but McCoy's line is only as solid as any canon, which means it's solid until it's not. Canon does not imply continuity. Retcons happen.

Give or take that battle would be 10 - 12 years prior to the events in ST: D; and the Klingons very well could have taken and held prisoners for a time afterwards. (The Feds too; meaning negotiations for Prisoner exchange, etc.)

I think a SDCC interview had Latif asked "what do you do on the ship" and he answered "I'm one of the security officers". So, that would suggest he does serve on the Discovery.
