...it's not at all about inconveniencing a guy with putting on a condom. Actually, that can be a very fun part of foreplay. However, most guys I know do find the sensation just not as great with a condom on. Like I said, I've never been with a man who minded wearing one, but I knew that they might have a better experience without.

I see your argument here. Don't have the experience with a partner but just trying in masturbation, yes the condom decreases some sensation. But it also depends on what sort of condom, I've noticed quite a difference between different sorts (hey, don't judge, I got overzealous in my last relationship and have had some condoms left over). And yeah, it would be intresting to try without but I don't have any wish to be a father or have an STD.

That being said, if they finally did invent and release a manpill with no major sideffects, I'd be all over that if I where in a commited relationship.

Because how much I ever love a woman and her body, I will sometimes have the craving for something different. It's not about not loving the woman, it's the fact that we guys are genetically programmed to copulate with as many different women as possible to ensure the survival of the species. And in that case, porn is prefferable then leaving the woman we love.

Porn can be enjoyable when viewed with a partner, as well.

No, you're not being cold. If anything, you're being both logical and safe. I'm on the same side of that fence as you are. If I haven't got my raincoat on, I'm not coming out to play. Yes, there is a difference in sensation, but for every negative there is a positive. That same lesser degree of sensation also means that I'll have more staying power.

Agreed. My only problem with wearing one is that some are literally to small and therefore hurt. Which is why I always have some properly sized ones on hand.

What I find interesting in real life is how much more "understanding" there is about lost of sensation for men because of condoms as compared to the hormonal mess for women because of the pill (or even lost of sensation for women themselves).

I am not blaming just men, I have heard this from many women as well. I think that because we are used to pain etc. every now and then due to our cycles we don't mind that much but it still does not seem right to me.

In my experience, caring partners will talk about these things so that both partners will come up with a method that is convenient for both of them. However, I know a couple of cases where the guy expected his girlfriend to feel the inconvenience of the pill (which was more than the average) just as long as he didn't have to bother himself with condoms. I think that shows no respect.

If they both want to continue enjoying porn, then why not? Presumably there's some overlap in sexual tastes if you want to be compatible as a couple, but if one person enjoys watching porn and the other doesn't share the same tastes, I don't see why that should be a problem either.

It's not really an issue unless it takes away from your sexual relationship with your partner.

What do you mean by filter? Like you can't understand how that works or how to handle it?

I've been on the pill for more than a decade and I've never really had bad side effects. Other than being sick if I'm off it and then on again. I suppose I could be dealing with hormone issues but I've always been sensitive and moody so I never thought that it could be because of the pill.

Plus the pill has benefited me in so many ways that I'm not eager to find reasons to stop taking it.

Plus, it's sometimes treated like a 'get out of jail free' card. Having cramps and feel bad? sure, that sucks. Doesn't justify you acting like a crazy person. Guys don't just get let off the hook using 'hormones' as an excuse when we're an asshole. Self-control is a big part of life, I guess.

Like with anything, some people go back to the same well too often, and what WAS a good excuse in one instance becomes negated in all of them.

Plus, if it's frequently your hormones, it's not really just that; it's YOU.

Despite the fact that today I'm bleeding like a stuck pig, have pain in my lower belly and across my lower back and feel like I'm walking under water I will get dressed, drive to work then sit at a desk all day. Afterwards I will go to the gym for a CrossFit workout where I will have to row, lift, run and do God knows whatever else they have planned as the workout of the day. Then I will come home and walk/feed the dogs and THEN finally, I may be able to curl up into a ball like I would like to do now.

Why? Because life goes on and we're not allowed the 2-3 days a month to move gently through this life-creating process. Every woman on this board and every woman you see on the street just has to grin and bear it. If you've never experienced it yourself then you can never understand it so don't even start pretending that you do...

Exactly. That's how most of us go through it. But I can also understand, mostly men, who may think there are women who don't have self-control. Collegue of mine every month makes sure that all of us, in our 60 people class, know that she is on her period. She goes around talking about her cramps, calling ambulance, massive bleeding... Sometimes it makes me embarrassed, can't a 22 years old woman take care of her hygienic needs without making such a drama? Of course in her case she just wants to be in the spotlight. Still women like her make men think that women are hormonal monsters

Being a man myself, and I think, a quite trustworthy one, were I a woman (and knowing what I know as a man), he'd still be wearing a condom.

I guess I don't really know women who blame everything on their hormones. I don't doubt that they're out there, but I'm not around people like that.

Re: the man pill discussion that's been ongoing, it would be nice to have an option. I wouldn't choose that option because my husband is incredibly forgetful and couldn't be trusted to take anything, but I'd imagine that's not the case with many men and it could be decided on an individual basis.
