Victoria Jennifer Johnson (The Ladies' Thread)

^

I'm really not - there was an interview with the cast member (can't remember which, since I don't watch the show), and they explained the source of veejayjay.

It had been around much longer than that, despite whatever hate you wanna dump on Grey's Anatomy. Elliot on Scrubs used to use it, for example. And yeah, it's really childish either way. Think of people that use it almost as highly as those that throw around the word "preggers" in normal conversation...

No-one thinks twice about "dick" instead of "penis", so why should we have to say "vagina" all the time. Admittedly, VJJ isn't a good name, we need to invent better ones.

There are enough weird names for female genitalia, please... ...if you look at what some fans did to the Romulan language, apparently their term is a homonym for "marsh, swamp, wetlands" :guffaw:

Edit: Ah, yes, "urrobafv" was the term :D

I'm all for some new slang. The real problem is vulva, IMO. A lot of the time people seem to misuse 'vagina' for 'vulva'. (Guys - check out a diagram on wiki sometime or something.) Is it down to ignorance, or to the fact that vulva just feels horrible to say?

The latter. Vagina is young, hip, and ready for a night on the town.

Vulva reminds me either of a safe Swedish car you buy when you settle down and have kids, or of an annoying South African musical instrument played at soccer matches.

"Front bottom" is the preferred Trek BBS nomenclature.

In any event, I'm stepping out so women -- the actual intended participants of this thread -- can have the spotlight. ;)

I was monitoring from a distance until a question was asked of dude kind. But I think a manly counterpart to this thread is in order.

If we're getting to the point of using terms for specific areas then we're pretty much beyond the need for slang. I'm just thinking of something we can throw into conversation. A word for women to use while talking at the pub :)

Anyway, I've been thinking about this (I'm really tired and my kids are driving me crazy, I need something to distract my mind!) and I was going to suggest kegel (after kegel exercises) but it occurred to me that whatever word is being used needs to be something that can be used as a curse.

And curse words, I maintain, are best when they can be spat. Which means one syllable ending in a hard consonant - dick, shit, fuck etc.

So my suggestion is... "keg" :D

It has the side benefit of taking a perfectly innocuous word and making it forever unusable because of smutty connotations. Generations of boys named Richard will appreciated having legions of college boys suffer what they have suffered :)

What say you all?

Wouldn't it make sense to use something more female specific? I mean, it's less common, but men can and do kegel exercises for various reasons as well.

Apologies for continuing the manifying of this thread, btw, I'll back out now. ;)

Yes, it's a perfect example of a word that can be spat, but it is uniformly negative in its connotations and I'm not looking to reclaim it as our own.

And what I was trying to think of is a word that women can use easily. 'pussy' and 'beaver' just don't fit with me, not sure why.

Just as a side-note, kegel would be a strange choice since "Kegel" is the German word for "bowling pin", a phallic symbol and thus the opposite of what you want.

Edit: Oh, and Google gave me this treat:

VICTORIA J. JOHNSON, M.D.. Board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Edit 2:

Not necessarily. In a somewhat antiquated but nevertheless still sometimes used connotation it can be a "friendly insult" if you know what I mean, as in "You silly cunt".

How bout "muffin"...seems hip now.

I don't think that by "bluffing with her muffin" she means her Vulva, since it would probably be considerably difficult to bluff... with... a vulva. If even possible at all.

I take it she means her face with her muffin.

Actually no. I have always heard it used as slang for female genitalia...I have no doubt that was Lady Gaga's intent.
